Why use a key if i have keyless entry? And When the young punk who broke my window got caught ( I heard it and caught him, Called the police) He ended up paying for the window! Just doesn't sit well with me knowing some one will try and get into my truck, so YES I'm a little paranoid about people being near my truck.

Alpine you need keyless entry, or a new ride. I wouldnt stand having to use a key.

You haven't lived until you own a vehicle without power anything. No power windows, power steering or power brakes.

Been using keys for 30 years, even on vehicles with keyless. I've got enough keys on my keyring and don't need the bulky FOB added to it.

And full power in the engine

Don't NEED it. But it would defiantly make my job easier sometimes. And much safer. And yea, my first vehicle was a 1967 landrover series 109. No power anything, on 35in military tires. I know exactly what it's like.

It was a potent 283 small block Chevy and that puppy would really scream on the top end. Had to love the old 2-speed Power Glide in it, too.

I would get just a keyless entry system, cheap and efective for your needs. An alarm with remote start, perimeter sensor etc is nice (I also have owned one) but is really neccessary in your case. I dont think a police car is prone too much vandalism. And I suspect you are usually in the car or very near to it, decreasing the odds of vandalism even further. heres a link to nice unit that you may find locally or at least have installed locally.

I know all about aftermarket alarm systems. Actually had the third loudest audio system in louisiana bout 6 years back. I prefer Prestige alarm systems wayyyy more than viper. Policy dictates that we can't add aftermarket systems.

Same here for my personal car.

My company car has the FOB build into the key so I use it. Still have to use the key to start the car.

My wife's car has a FOB, but no real key. I don't even have to pull it out of my pocket to lock, unlock or even start the car. I lock and unlock by touching the door handle and start the car by pushing a button. I have to admit, the system on my wife's car is sweet. That is until the battery in the FOB dies. LOL
