I heard a ghost story about a belief that you should never whistle at night in the Appalachian areas, and there are other places.
The story took place in Kentucky.
I wonder, anybody ever heard of this? Has any body ever grew up with your grandparents telling you to never ever whistle at night?

The belief about whistling at night comes from the idea that it can draw in unwanted spirits, bad luck, or even dangerous creatures. In Appalachian folklore, nighttime is seen as a moment when the line between our world and the supernatural one is thinner, and doing things like whistling is thought to attract the attention of beings that roam in the dark.

Thanks @WoodiE, it's an interesting and intriguing belief. Much of the story was that. Very interesting to me since I did not grow up hearing these things.

We just got the rougaroo around here
have you seen, heard, or smelled one?

We have some paranormal activity in our house. But they are friendly. Ie grandpa and great grandma

Caught my bedroom door closing on it's self once. Very slowly. I wasn't near it and there was no breeze or draft around.

Caught a light turn on by itself.
And we have one possessed light in the kitchen that seems like it's talking in Morris code when it's on.

To be fair I do watch ghost shows on the weekend. Ghost adventures, paranormal caught on camera, paranormal lockdown, and a few other smaller YouTubers.

I still run up the stairs from the basement once I turn out the lights 🤫

I just have creepy things in the woods right outside my house that screech at night
Na nothing to worry about. It's just @Xraycer

Wait a minute, it would be @Lostinthewoods86 since he is lost. And @Xraycer is helping.

Probably started this myth because they wanted their annoying neighbors to shut up, so they could get some sleep. 🤣

This is the perfect thread share experiences. I mentioned that our house has paranormal activity and can be very active.
So, I thought I would share this one.
Our ghost/poltergeist is at it again.
The wife went into the kitchen to start breakfast and there was a toothpick
laying in the middle of the floor broken in three perfect lengths.
There was also a plastic grocery bag lying next to it.
Keep in mind, the wife keeps the house spotless, so there isn't anything that isn't
kept either in a drawer or cabinet.

To be honest, my daughter knows a physic medium and suggested we bring her in.
I don't want to know what is in here because it can be quite pleasant.
Scary sometimes but pleasant.

Exactly how I looked at the wife when a big rubber ball came rolling down the hall three times on its own.
After the second time, I surrounded the ball with shoes to block it in, and it still came down the hall on its own.
