hey guys, I've been searching for some good nimh packs for a while and just can't find any, so I'm just going to go with rhino lipos. a few questions though. i have an emaxx brushless with the mamba monster 2200kV motor
1. What discharge rate should i get 10C,20C etc.
2. do i need any special things to use them. or can i just plug them into the car
3. What kind of charger should i get, I'm lookin at the onyx 230 is that good?
4. is the mAh the same for lipos. ex 5000mAh for nimh is a lot, but would i need that much for lipo?
5. will i need a low voltage cut off for my charger or car?

You need to read up and understand lipo technology a little more by your questions. Not knockin' you a bit either. Lipos can be pretty dangerous.
1. Your esc has a cutoff built into it. You access it from the tuning software or by manually programing the esc. Make sure you get this right!
2. The higher the discharge rate, the better. And more expensive, though lipos have come down in price dramatically. The Mamba needs a minimum of 20c packs to run right(that's from the instructions). I'd go with at least 25c packs. But the higher, the better. Get 40c packs if you can afford it.
3. Mah is still the capacity rating on lipos. Again, the higher the better. 5000's are a good mix of size and capacity for a Maxx.
4. You need to charge the batteries correctly, which means they have to be balanced. There's a few ways of doing this. A nice charger will do the balancing while it charges. This is the only way I've ever done it. Others will chime in on the different ways to balance a pack. You should also pick up a lipo sack to charge and store your packs in. Charge your battery at the amperage that the manufacturers states.
5. Never over gear and gear WAY down if your going to be in the grass. And always watch your temps closely when you change setups.
