Don't forget to re-set that failsafe.

Today could have been costly. After a servo upgrade (both steering and throttle/brake) I headed out today after a week off from running. Anxious to try out the new servos as well as my new OS #8 plugs I filled things up, primed the lines and put on my new DuBro glow starter (man all kinds of new things to try out !!). Things fired right up, needles set back to factory until I get used to the new plug. Off we go doing a few back-n-forths to warm things up. Temps look good, so let's try some high speed runs. Woah, wait a minute, where's it going in such a hurry ? The thing took off at full tilt, no response from throttling or braking, nothing. I'm doing my best making huge high speed circles until I can either regain control or do some wing snatch and grab. And while all this is going on I'm thinking, hey.....what about my failsafe ? Why isn't it saving my fails ? I literally catch the thing on a high speed pass between my legs and shut it down. Packed everything up and headed home. Evidently when I swapped out the throttle/brake servo with the new one I didn't re-set the failsafe and somehow when running, things got squirelly and the receiver acted like it lost the signal (I believe this was induced by the failsafe), and instead of applying the brakes, it opened 1/2 throttle. All is good now, the failsafe has been re-set and I can only Thank the RC Godz for giving me such a large area to run in. Otherwise it might have been carnage.

Moderators - Sorry, I should have posted this in the Radio Gear room. Please move if necessary. Thanks.

Yep I have had several of those uncontrollable high speed circles until you can catch it moments. Thats why I got an ONFA failsafe (If you dont have a failsafe I would definately get one)

Oh, I'm a firm believer in them. But they're useless when not set up properly. I just figured I could unplug everything, install the new servo, then plug it all together again and viola !! I would be golden. I think I may have had the power on when I re-connected the new servo to the failsafe and that somehow re-set everything.
