Does this make sense

Well my MAXX usually runs in the 240-250 range just drivin around jumpin in the yard etc. but my neigbor recently got a savage 25 and he was out in his feild so i drove my maxx over there across the street and we were just messin around racin back and forth at WOT and my maxx was runnin 190-200+ should this happen or is my temp gun messed up and is lieing to me

Different engines deffinetly run at different temps. I ahd a couple of GS buggy engines that liked 260-270 where my .21 Sirio like 230-240, and my .18 likes 220-230. do not tune by temp alone, makes sure then egine is not too hot, make sure there is plenty of smoke comin out the pipe when throttle is wide open, and make sure the engine is not cutting out on full throttle (that is a big sign of being to lean.)

I'm not asking what temp it should run at I'm asking is it normal or common for it to runn cooler at WOT back and forth than when I'm just on and off the gas and running a track or is my temp gauge broke

Think about how the engine is cooled. It is ram air cooled. This means that air flow over the cooling head and through the cooling head provides the cooling. If you run greater lengths at WOT, yes, the engine gets hotter...but it also gets more air flowing over it. If you are pulsing the engine, the air flow is not as much so you get the same build up of heat, but not the same cooling effect.

Also, remember that outside air temps impact the engine's cooling. If it was cooler on the second day (the WOT day), then expect it to run cooler.
