does running rich extend engine life?

I think I read that this increases lubrication so I would think it would increase engine life. Also another question is running cooler also extend engine life?

Nope. The additional compression of running rich and cool puts an increased load on the connecting rod. Running at premium tune gives you the best life as well as the best performance, provided it's been broken in properly. It will also increase the life of the glow plugs.

Yes too rich can be just as bad as too lean. Find that perfect happy place where they hold a good temp, good smoke and scream like hell!
