Dude, Just my two cents, But Smarttech is a very very very beginner r/c. It has no parts avaliable around, Nor is it that well of a performer. Just really my opinion.

It also has the Hpi aftermarket air filter. could it be HPI? Cound it be a custom radio plate?

I need close up pics of the engine and servos if the electronics are stock.

Def. A Smartech, Look at the plastic quality. The engine and pipe are from an HPI. The radio tray is a Smartech and the Wheels are HPI, Creator of this thread, Where did you get this from???

Looks to me like a rs4 3 evo with some quality hop-ups. I've been looking at several of the parts I see on it as the same parts I am gonna get for my new MT 2. Check Hpi's website for the evo and you can see from there...good luck to you

electrics are HPI crystals and radio with futaba servos and the t-15 engine with a
T-maxx .15 pipe i believe and the HPI wheels and rims and the more surfing that I am doing makes me think more and more that its a smartech I might drive it see how it does but I am worried that its going to SUCK! and yeah its the HPI filter I just got it yesterday. and try not to make too much fun of the new guy for having such a POS car

aww how cute it looks like my rs4 3 evo a few months back. that looks like the t-15 that i had too. but the steering servo setup and the arm thingies thatare over and undr the front driveshaft make it look way different. @ my best be it is an hpi knock off. look on the side of the engine it should say ".15" and have like flames on it. theres no transmission cover .. my evo has that and the stewering servo layout is way weird to mine. HPI shock towers but. i dont know if thats a sway bar set of what on the front.

I don't think its an HPI, look at the suspension. I've never seen an HPI with suspension arms like that.

But whatever it is it has a very similar layout to a RS4 3.

when I was thinking about getting it I was looking at HPI's website and nothing really looked EXACTLY the same so i just thought it was upgraded but looks like it has actually been down graded from what i thought it was... at least the rotostart works LOL :hammer:

I know I am kind of making fun of myself now I just got this to hold me off til the NEW savage came out cause I have been drooling over one for about 5 months now... glad I waited. ya its kinda like a frankenstein car but I want to beat it like a red headed step child now :trout:

I think its a rs4 by hpi. It seems to just have some upgrades on it but I'm not sure. The air filter is hpi along with the tires and wheels. I would have to see the servos and the engine to be able to tell. But my guess is that it's a HPI RS4. can't wait to find out wut it is.

do a search on e-bay for smartech and you will see that the chasis and suspenion set up is IDENTICAL so thats what I am going to accept it as, but at least the engine starts, and has >46psi on it so I might try and drive it but if it sucks I'm going to just wait for the new savage SS or the MT-2

Yeah I could tell it wasn't an HPI just by the suspension. By all means drive it and get your moneys worth.
