I was wondering if there is somthing that I have to do to view the gallery now when I am in there all I see is boxes that look like mini links so I click on them and still get nothing could someone please let me know. Thanks Tim MI

Sounds like you have your browser set to not show pictures, or there's something filtering the graphics between you and the RCNT server.

Actually it's a firewall issue. I've been having it as well. My firewall is set to block most cookies and as a result I am unable to see images in the gallery. If I drop my firewall I can view images but accepting all cookies is not a safe way to surf. :2cents:

yep that fixed it! it didnt used to do that did something change here with the server?

I have never had to do anything before so somthing must have changed. I have tried to shut down my firewall and that did not work dose anyone have any ideas. Thanks Tim MI

Woodie made some changes so that people could not hot link pics they posted here. Since then there's been a problem for some of us to view the gallery who use firewalls. I already made him aware of the problem a couple of days ago and he's looking into it as we speak.

Thanks for the info I guess I will just sit back and wait for a while mabey when he swiches over the the new network it will solve the problem also.

You can drop your firewall and view the gallery just don't forget to put it back up before you surf. I tend to just live without the gallery for the time being because I generally forget to raise my firewall after I am done and get reminded when I run adware that I've gotten some spyware as a result.

that is what I tried to do but it still did not help.

Interesting. What do you have your cookie control set to? My firewall blocks most cookies and that's what was stopping me from viewing the pics. Perhaps you need to change your browser's cookie controls.

RCNT Gallery not showing up
=============================

As El Pirata has already mentioned this is a problem only if you or your ISP is using some kind of proxy or you're using a firewall.

Why does this problem exist? It's because people where using the RCNT Gallery as a place to hold their sigs and then use them on other forums and sites, or they would upload larges images such as pictures for the "babe thread" and also use them on other sites and forums. To attempt to save bandwidth I've enabled a hot linking script. In a nutshell what the script does is says "OK unless the browser itself asks for these images, don't show them" So if you're running a proxy the proxy is calling for them and the script blocks it, same holds true for some firewalls - more noticeably norton internet security.

When we move to the new server I will disable this script as to allow all of our members to view the gallery again, this just means it's going to be more work for the Staff and myself to now make sure we don't have rouge images that are not R/C related in the RCNT gallery.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused, but it's something we need to put in place just for the time being.
