Can anyone shed some light on what the differences between a dirt/clay buggy chassis and a Astroturf/carpet chassis is? Are the differences subtle or radical?

Theres no difference in the chassis at all. If you just mean whats the difference in set ups then tires are gonna be the biggest difference along with suspension tuning.

With kits l ike Xray for example, the XT2C comes with a gear diff and the XT2D comes with a ball diff. There usually are other differences in the kits as well to aid in the setup for each surface type such as springs, shock oil weight, and a few other bits like sway bars. At the end of the day, each kit can be adapted to the "other" surfaces by following the recommendation in the guide and/or adding/removing the bits specific to each surface/kit.

Thanks for the response. I wondering if the chassis was really different . It just a matter of different components in the specific kits for tuning.:thumbs-up:
I guess the big difference is the diffs. Ball for the dirt/clay and gear for turf/carpet. That seems to be the difference in the Losi 22 5.0 just like the Xray Thanks for pointing that out Entropy!:thumbs-up:
