Just changed the oil on my shocks (filthy). It got me thinking about the other fluids, specifically, the oil in the diffs. What is the suggested time to change it out ? As needed, or can I expect it to last a while, etc. ? Thanks.

What RCs do you have? Most RCs except 1/8th buggy's don't use fluid in the diffs or transmissions.

I change the shock oil every 4-5 bashing sessions and every 2-3 heats during a race day. Its amazing how dirty it gets. It looks like mud after just a short time.

Yeah, 1/8 GS Storm. Got 5000 wt in the front, 7000 wt in the center, and 1000 wt in the rear. I have all the replacement fluids standing by, but don't want to change it out if it's not needed. I have put just about 1 gallon of fuel through it and have kept the track time to dry/semi-dry conditions. My cleanups are always thorough.

It's supposed to rain this weekend and it would be a good time to change the diff oil if needed but can't find any data on when to change it. The diff cases aren't exposed to the dirt/dust like the shocks are so I'm guessing that I wouldn't need to change it as often as them and given the price of the diff oil ($8 a small bottle), that would be another reason not to change it too often. I did a search throughout the forums but didn't find anything.

You never have problems with your shocks, because the only time you might see problems is when your RC is acting as a doormat to full sized BMWs.

There's a novel concept...a part of the RC that is Pirata-proof. Perhaps you aren't trying hard enough. We'll have to find some bigger jumps.
