Today I took my Losi 22s drag out, it's Thanksgiving and there's plenty of open parking lots. Unfortunately it was instantly obvious to me that something was wrong, it was slow and sluggish, almost like the battery wasn't fully charged. I came home and a quick inspection revealed that only one wheel was getting power.

It's basically a stock RTR, a couple of years old, probably run 12 times. Is it likely that the differential has failed, and that quickly? Last time I took it out, it ran fine, launching straight, I was finally feeling like I had it dialed in.

Any input is appreciated.

I am not super failure with the drag cars .... however ... if it has a ball diff that is deff a possibility... also a slipper clutch could be as well ... easy to find though ...... see if the pinion/ spur is moving with abit of resistance on the back tires .... find where the slip is occurring... if the pinon spur look good ... open the tans and check the diff out

I have the 22s sct, When my diff failed, the teeth on the outside broke apart. The inside was just fine. I doubt it has a ball diff, those came in the sct kits. One could order the entire diff with outdrive n all pre built.
Was it squealing like it was a loose slipper or does it make a grinding noise perhaps? You should open it up and look at it. IT's about time to do some maintenance on the diff anyway.

If just one wheel is getting power and the car is sluggish, it could be that the bearings on the other side are stuck.

Even a failed diff should spin both wheels when they are unloaded, if it’s able to spin the wheels at all.

Thanks for the input guys. I don't think that the bearings are siezed, the wheel spins freely, but does not spin when I hold it up and hit the throttle. I'm going to start to tear it down tonight, I'm hoping the pin slipped out of the hex.

On the bright side, I have amassed a lot of upgrades and should have anything I'm going to need.
