The Backplate is behind the Pullstart or Ez-Start assembly. Remove the Pullstart or Ez-Start and then take note of how the one way bearing is. SPin it one way to find out how it should go back in when you are done. Remove the screws that secure the back plate to the crank case. clean the backplate with Denatured Alcohol or nitro clean and wipe it dry with a clean rag . NO DIRT OR FOREIGN PARTICLES CAN REMAIN. Apply a thin layer of RTV Silicone on the seal and just past it. A little can go a long way so don' gob it up. Make sure there is no silicone anywhere else. Reapply the Backplate on the case and tighten the screw back on. Don't do it too much wher you strip the thread on the case. Do the same thing with the carb neck. just up at the top near the seal and no where else. place it back on and tighten the screw or clinch nut. Let this cure overnight. Don't rush. Let us know if you have any more questions.LazyDave said:BackPlate? i can gess what the carb neck is, but not sure,
