Hey guys. Taken a break from rebuilding the old Kyosho Ultima RB for a bit.
So in the interim I kinda brought a Dictator 3 of eBay for a reasonable price. Needs a bit of work etc as you’d expect from nearly 30 years. Anybody have any ideas on where spares can be found or alternatives to the originals?? I’m assuming modern parts will work as long as dimensions etc are good?
Cheers

Isn't the Dictator 3 made by Nikko?

Nikko isn't a hobby grade buggy, so you won't find any hop ups for it. like you said, to replace or hop it up, you will have to match the parts from other brands up to it. Changing out the electronics, such as the esc and the RC unit, will be pretty easy.

Nikko Dictators are cars that deserve to be rebuilt. Some parts from other brands can be adapted to the Nikko Dictator:

* Dogbones: Hsp 06006 (70mm)

* If you want to use standard buggy wheels 12mm hex) you can put Tamiya wheel axles (50823) + 11x5 ball bearings (MR115)

* The wheel plastic bushings of the Dictator 3 (11x8 mm) can be replaced by bronze sintered bushing of Aliexpress. You must cut them to 4mm:

* Motor mounts of the Dictator are fragile. If they break, they can do it with a 3mm aluminum sheet:

* Some parts of the tamiya DF02 chassis are compatible:
