DeLorean Time Machine Project!

I've been looking around, but stopped once I decided on the KITT route. Once I take on Ecto-1, I'll let you know what I find. From my cursory look around, a couple of designers have made some that cost around 30-ish bucks that look good. Some of them have scale interiors that I'll have to digitally cut out to make room for the RC electronics, as they weren't intended to become RC cars. But I'll let you know once I start that project. Given the work that project will take, I'll probably start a thread and update as it goes along, unlike this thread which I just created after I finished the project haha.

Ecto-1 will be quite the project, excited to see how you tackle that one. I'll have to figure out getting the blue glow on my RC for the DeLorean. I hate to put body pins to secure it to the chassis, but I have have to just for durability while driving. I'd like to be able to off road it so it's not entirely a shelf queen.

How about neodymium magnets? Obviously won't be as secure as body clips, but if you set it up in 2 axis', like horizontal magnets under the hood and rear decklid, and vertical ones that are mounted on the sides or front/rear, it should hold up for some moderate driving, at least anything that the car's suspension is able to handle.

Yea, I have those on a crawler body I just completed. They're strong. But not a strong as you'd hope. My crawler has some pretty good top in speed and the body has come loose just blasting across our hard when i flew over some bumpy rocks. The magnets are great at the lower speeds, but the rally car will not be slow by any means, haha.
I'm likely going to have to resort to body clips, just looking at finding some that look discreet enough when put together. I'm still early into my rally build so I know I'll think of plenty of mounting options as I continue to work on it.

You did good. The showcase is where you show off your finished projects, just as you have there.

I'm also playing with the idea of making an Ecto-88 body as well. Then you get it all the BTTF DeLorean, with KITTs light bar and Ghostbusters side panel logos

A site called "Model Trains Store . Com" sells the siren. I have used their police and firetruck sirens on a switched 3rd channel from my receiver.

Years ago a customer who builds movie replica cars and rents them out for parties and such brought a delorian and an echo 1 to the shop for repairs. I had the pleasure of driving both and it was great!!. I'll see if I still have the pictures when I get home tonight.
