It is a little late posting, but I went deep sea fishing off of the coast of Alabama the weekend before Katrina, and thought I would share a pic of the catch.

The only thing left of those fish are pics, and memories. Red Snapper is always good, but the darker fish in the back where the best tasting fish I think I've ever had. They are Trigger fish. I had never heard of Trigger fish untill I caught one, and the first mate told me what it was. He said if we where willing he would be just as happy to take some Trigger fish home than a tip, so I figured it would be tasty. By the way, his tip was in cash. That was my first deep sea fishing trip, and other that a few leans over the side of the boat it was a blast!

You can see the Trigger a little better in this pic.

Don't cry Plaidfish! Nice catch, I didn't know there were any species of Triggers in the Gulf, especially that far north. Although they look like the ones you will find in many a marine tank, they are much bigger and not as colorful. I want one for my tank but it will destroy my shrimp. MMMMMMM.....red snapper (in my best Homer Simpson voice) (gets mind out of gutter)

We were about an hour and a half, or two off shore.

I can't wait to go again!

wait til you've spent a few hours out trollng anf get Nadazipzilchnothing...then tell me ow great deep sea fishing is.....sorry guys to most growing up here looks like it would have been the best thing for fishing, but, w/ a dad that went out in puddles if they looked like they had any fish in them it wasn't a very fun experience......too many days worth of chumming to pay for my share of the boat ride......
