Okay, I am veyr new to all of this and I ran the engine in fine and drove my RC nitro a few times, then I thought I would tighten everything ... dont ask why just thought it would be a good idea ;)!

Well I managed to overtighten the glow plug and now my RC wont statr as it just blows the glow plug out. Is it possible to rethread the cylinder heads? Is this something I should be able to do or my local model shop?

Thanks!!
Tom

It depends on what engine you have. Some have a 'button' between the block and the cooling head the the glow plug threads into. You can just replace that for a few bucks.

Re-threading/repairing isn't really an option. I hope you have the button like Rolex said but even if you have to replace the complete cooling head, it's cheaper than the whole engine.

Is there no way I can use some kind of metal to metal heat adhesive (short term as it would appear I have to buy a whole engine as I dont have a button). Or some kind of helicoil type tool?

You can just buy a new head instead of the whole engine, it just gives you a reason to upgrade to a better cooling head if that is the case.

Hi guys, thanks for all of the reply's...

I have taken a couple of photos of the part as i seem to be able to get the head off.

As for the engine make model etc ... I have looked in my manual and it says that it is a ... 18 CXP, part number 02060 (might be a vertex?).

Are these parts like a standard fit? I.e. if I bought any cylinder head for an 18 it should work?

Thanks for your help!

woudl something luike this suffice?

The guy has said that ... "it is off a size 15 engine but will fit 18 it was off a BMW M3 GTR car"

Any thoughts?
