Is there anyway to do it. I have to very new .12's that I've been racing in my gt this season, but am planning to go with a new Stadium truck next season. I'm still torn weather or not to get a new gt, or go with the mugen or losi truck. I think this engine issue might be a deciding factor.

Anyway around the cut cranks, without buying a new crank for the O.S. tr and mt.12?

There is a way. Go to your LHS, and tell them what you're trying to do. You'll need a clutch shaft. (not sure exactly if that's what it's called) They'll be able to help you out.

Hey Nitro Gurus, bumpin this thread up to get more feedback.

Brandon sparked a thought in my head (not easy to do). I have tried without success to sell a NIB OS .15 CV-X w/cut crank. I have no need for this engine it came as part of a package deal I purchased.

BUT...... If for a few bucks I could make this work in my xxx-nt. I would keep it for when the Mach .15 bites the dust.

Thanks,

Mr T

From the research I've done, you have two choices.

Either you can buy yourself a new crank, or you can just lock tight the nut onto the crank and not worry about.

I'm going to do the later.

Brandon, I'm glad you started this thread!!! I got to thinking that I had an old blown OS with what I thought was an SG shaft. I went home and started looking at it and thought hey maybe I can just use the shaft from the one OS and put it in the other to use in my xxx-nt. after looking closer at the ratty engine I realized it wasn't a SG shaft but a threaded shaft with adapter (can't think of a good name for it). None-the-less it screwed right off the old and right onto the new. The only issue is that instead of being held on by a dozen threads its riding on about 5 threads. Not much stress there so I think it will be OK.

Long story short...I went from having a brand new OS I couldn't sell to having a brand new OS back-up for my Losi and it didn't cost a dime!!!!

Mr T

perfect. Just locktite those 5 threads and all will be fine.

Exactly what I'm going to do with my TR and MT12
