well what i said was probably taken the wrong way, and i appologize for it if it was, all i was trying to say is that some things such as plastic exhaust parts should not be tried for the simple fact that it melts, plain and simple, and i am not saying what he did was bad, nor good, just done, and yes we do all learn from our experiements/mistakes, and thats what we do with them LEARN and like jnjritz said, if it wasn't for innovators, that try new things we wouldn't have the things we have today.
And kylhoward7 i want to personally apologize to you, i'm sorry for what i said to you, i know you may think this a b/s excuse but here goes, i was having a horrible day, my house got broken into and alot of things were taken and i was just blowing of steam and i want too apologize to you for what i said to you, and what you did wasn't bad it just should have been though through a little more, good idea, just wrong materials, and once again i am truly sorry

It's not a problem Kyl...
Like Rob said right idea wrong material :)
Please do keep it up though and Remember me when you invent something that makes you millions ;)
And try not to make anything go "BOOM" while trying!

its all good
plus, they do make crappy plastic stock pipes:hehe:

A properly sized and shaped exhaust will maximize flow and velocity at a certain RPM range to scavenge exhaust gasses and increase intake air flow, improving volumetric efficiency and power. It would take a lot of time and research to make a pipe that is an improvement over stock.

Bottom line is that nobody has the r and d capabilities as manufacturers like Ofna, O.S., Trx, ect... Try as ya might, but after 30+ years of research and testing, you'll never "invent" a pipe that is better then something that you buy from a good engine/after market company that specialize and spend big $ on development. Besides, you really can't invent something that's been just about perfected and around for years. Just my 1 1/2 cents.

Very true matt, but you gotta give credit where credit is due, you never know he may find something to make a pipe that blows away the competition just out of stuff he finds in his garage/shed/workshop

Different people think in different manners. Sure the big wigs have 20 or 30+ years experience, but they also have 20-30+ years of thinking in the same manner. "Well this worked last time...let's improve it". Big wigs hardly ever start fresh from the drawing board, unless they scrap their engineering team and hire fresh minds. Great inventions all start with a simple idea...then the struggle is how to get that idea out of your head and into the real world. THAT is the hard part. When you're on a team that has been doing something for a LONG time in the same way, not too many "new" thoughts pop through. I try to think outside the box as much as possible as a programmer, but being on an established team...I get shot down more often than not since they are set in their ways. Hard to get groundbreaking ideas past the thought stage in this environment.

Never say Never ;-)

So I say Bravo for trying to create something new....Have at it....you may surprise a few people, or you may fail miserably. The fun is in the attempt!

Very true, very true. Even though I think it's a silly waste of time and not worth the risk of hurting a mill, I would buy one of the guy if it did something spectacular! After reading what others have posted and a little more thought, my opinion has changed, slightly. I'll throw some props for thinking outside the box.

I thought it was neat but wouldn't want someone new to the hobby to break their pipe and think they could just stick a pill bottle on it.
I would state try at your own risk if you have money to burn.suck for some kid to blow up their cristmas present buy being naive..

That 5 hour energy pipe looks really neat! Maybe find something in a similar shape and size but in metal! I like it, very creative!

I came up with (xm) radio like 5 years before it came out? Everyone called me crazy then like out of no where here comes (xm) radio! So I say watch out for the 5 hour pipes. They could be could be the next big thing. One more thing you allways had someone on your side;)

I invented the internet......oh wait.....that was Al Gore!

I'm telling you if I had the means to get my idea out of my head and out to the world I would be a rich man and it would be called wz radio not xm.
