Does anyone know who does nice custom painted bodies for reasonable? I'm not 'planning' on using it, it's just something to wear on the shelf..

I'm keeping my eyes on ebay for now.. I see some for $100 - $170!!! Jeeezzz..

If anyone knows any sites hook me up!

Here's a topless pic :),

I think supermaxx97 is getting an airbrush for xmas.........he says he's pretty good with the painting, I haven't seen any of his work yet, but maybe you can hook up with him and get the low down on it, could be worth checking into.......he is on this forum by the way, just send him a pm if ya want more info. Otherwise I am not sure where to find a custom painted body for much less than the price you had mentioned.

Go on ebay and search on "Savage Body". There are some really nice bodies on there that are being sold for nearly nothing (IMO).

The bodies I've seen go for around 75 bucks. Quite a deal when you figure how much the body costs plus paint and labor.

I bought a killer "shelf" body on ebay for 56 bucks.

Oh, one thing or word of caution. Upon receiveng it, it did not appear to have any type of protective "sealer" or coating to the inside to protect it from the Nitro.

But it doesn't really matter since its a shelf body....

You said so little but so much. adrcracing has some of the best painted bodys I've ever seen. This guy is one of the best if not the best IMO. I hope to have one soon.

OUCH!! $165 for the custom painted 50's panel truck........seems a bit steep........

I sell light systems to both of those guys. Alot of their customers call me and tell me thanks for hooking them up, and how they only paid $175 or $190, and how good of a deal it was. Its all relative in how good of a body you want.

yeah, that guy may value his time and effort a little more than he should . but hey ... the only one that knows is him , and its his stuff to sell ...:wasted:

Its not what he values his time at, its what his customers value it at. Funny thing is, they are probably only making 10-15 dollars an hour, after buying all the materials and whatnot.

OK, $175 to $190........for a painted body with light kit (or not), consider that you pay roughly $400 for the RTR truck itself (just useing truck as an example, you are going to pay almost 1/2 the amount you spent for the truck for a "custom painted" body???? Hey they guy does outstanding work I have to say atleast, these are show worthy bodies, but I just feel it's a little expensive considering I can get an unpainted body for $25, and I realize he has the cost of materials such as tape, paper, paint and so forth, but hey if he is buying in bulk and getting it at a volume cost he is still making one hell of a profit.

How much an hour do you make at your job?

I make $18.75 a hour........why do you really think that is relavent to this thread????

An hourly labor rate is relevant when you figure out how much your time is worth. If it takes you 7 hours to paint your truck, and you have $40 in material, you end up with a $175.00 body.

Now, take that to an extreme, and say some executive guy is making $100 and hour, and you'll see why some people buy things others won't.

Me, I just have enough time to play with the kids, so I don't have time to do arts and crafts anymore.

E-bay has alot of new guys painting lids if you want a $60-80 body, and thye look pretty good.

i can probably buy 2 or 3 bodies for the same price as 1 of these. but i wouldn't be as satisfied. all you have to do is save your money. if you want the best, you're gonna have to pay for it. if not, go buy you a $40-60 body and wish you had one of these.

I think this post went bad. It was supposed to be where to get bodies, not how much and why. Does anyone have suggestions for low cost bashing bodies??
