Kinda like having your gums scraped. I have just spend the past 5 hours copying stuff off my old computer via a USB cable into my new computer and only have a few more folders left. It's been a really long process but I am almost finished. I know a great many of you will ask why I just didn't network the two computers and go from there or to take out the hard drive out of my old computer and save it that way. Reason being, I have no clue how to network the two, one day I might find a way and as far as the hard drive being added, I just got my new computer and didn't want to violate the warranty because I did this. I'm almost done now so the long process is almost done.

Well sorry to hear about your luck buying a dell ;)

Your right, transfering data from one drive from another can take a great deal of time, though I have never tried via USB just because how long that would take! ha

The easiest way other then USB would be network and that is only true if both computers have a network card, thus all you would have to do is grab a crossover cable and ta da...its networked :-D

Good Luck!

15gb of data in just under 6 hours. Everything is done. Now old computer is off to be reformated then new CD Rom drive and later I'll put all of my daughter's games on it.

El Pirata your sending it off you be reformated?? Why don't you just do it yourself with the restore disk?? It only takes like an hour and its free.

Ohh I see well I hope your daughter has fun on her computer.

Good to hear you are up and running. I did the same with my old PowerMac. My wife does her work on it, and my daughter plays her games on it. Leaves my big toy for me alone....

Yeah. It's good for kids to be able to learn while having fun and not at the risk of fragging my hard drive at the same time.
