Just sitting here wondering if anyone has taken out the front driveshaft and made the savage 2WD i wouldnt mind trying it temparary just to have fun with drifts.

Ya, my Savage 25 was rear wheel drive before i took it apart, only because my front diff's bevel gear was missing 90% of its teeths. But i found out that you dont get all the power the engine has to offert that way. PLUS i puts alot of pressure on the rest of the drivetrain. So in other words, fun to play with that way...but not so good on the rest of the truck i find. JMO:)

Yep, I've done it too for the same reason as Boutch. Made my stock 25 in to wheely monster though. I didn't have any problems with any other parts from running that way.

hmm that could be fun to mess around with i may have to try it

Say bye bye diff in a few runs if you go 2WD...Its just a bad idea IMO.

that's true,it's all because of all the power that engine supplies to the gearbox it gets moved onto driveshaft, because there are to driveshafts the power is divided into 2 so less kinetic power is moved onto driveshafts and less kinetic energy onto the wheels....if you will use 2wd in your Savage then you will lose lots of handling and performance as 2 wheels just can't support that much kinetic power that will be transfered to them........
it should be okay if it would be used slowly and not racing and bashing but that's what nitro trucks are all about :D

2WD isnt as good for drifting because the front wheels dont spin with the back wheels, so you will need to be going a lot faster to keep it sideways. You could always try putting plastic around the wheels, then it will drift and wont cause any damage to the truck.

It can't be that bad for it.. My evo+ was 2wd when my dogbone broke and it handled like crap, it would always spin out then spin back super fast and keep on going LOL
