I am needing a good 12v glue gun for work and am having a hard time figuring out how to convert the one I want. The only 12v ones on the market are cheapos and don't last and they also seem to be the exact same guns as the 110v cheapos that you can buy at most hobby shops. I know I can just go purchase a converter but I want to be a little more difficult than that. I know there's some smart cookies on RCNT that may be able to help me figure this little trick out.

Dont know man....you can buy a converter for just a few bucks on ebay though.

110 is alternating current and 12V is direct current. It can't be changed without a half wave rectifier.
A converter is the only way to go. I got one from Harbor Freight.

I'm still not totally convinced that I have to buy a converter. Thanks for the input Rolex. I think I'm going to dig into one of the 12v glue guns and see if maybe I can swap out some stuff with the one that I want to use. It's kind of one of those things that if it works, "heck ya" if not "oh well".
