my mesh is a little tight, the truck will make a whirring sound when it moves from this tightness. aside from the noise, acceleration and top end speed seem to be there. is it ok to run a mesh a little tight or is there something I am over-looking, I just want to avoid breaking any more teeth on a spur gear

i've ran it for a bout an hour straight with some pretty harsh driving and everything is still working properly with the mesh. i think mesh could be classified as tight but must not be that tight since no melting has occured. I can free spin the spur for about 3 revolutions before the friction stops it. whaddya think

may be ok for now.. but it will wear faster then normal. its up to you if you want to redo it or not.

if you do. go get a piece of notebook paper and rip a strip of it off. smash that in between the two gears and tighten up the screws then roll the spur to get the paper out. you should be good then.

I'm going to re mesh it, being lazy is stupid when it comes to preventing some serious damage

That's a good call. Tight mesh will burn up your CB bearings before anything else. When those bearings go, they usually take a spur out with them because the CB just flops around.

it's a good thing I did re mesh it because further inspection revealed another problem with the spur gear shaft being bent slightly. replaced that and re meshed with printer paper and everything is as smooth as silk now. no more whirring lol
