I know this is normally for RC type stuff, but my cd-burner in my dell just fried I think. It's a typical desktop machine and uses IDE. I'll find out for sure if it's my MB or the drive tonight. I just wanted to get the question out there now.

I'm just looking for a cheap burner... I checked ebay, and the ones I found are cheap, but the shipping is more than the burner. Besides, I'd rather give my cash (paypal or MO if necessary) to a fellow rc guy.

Thanks.

I was thinking the same thing. I just took one out of my dell and put a dvd burner in it.

should have jumped on fasteddys sony burners. sick deal i might add.

I'm not sure if I need it yet or not. Most of the buy it now stuff I found was around $20 with $15 shipping... I could almost just buy a new one for that.

But, a guy at work may give me one anyway. He gave me a brand new one to try to make sure it isn't the MB. It's not. I'm burning a disk right now.

I think I had registry problems in my XP reg file... I even had issues with the NIB one he gave me to try. After googling the error (error 19), I found some info to delete from my reg file and reboot. After that, then the pc recognized the drive, but some of my cd creating software still doesn't... and some does.
