For the last several days for no reason my connectivity gives up the ghost. The rest of the computer works fine just no Internet. I can re-boot and everything is fine.

No Viruses or Spy-ware can be found. At first I thought it may be a FF issue so I started to use Explorer again and it didn't cure the issue. Its acting like the blaster but I use SP2 and also used MS Malicious program scanner. Not the Blaster...

I have tried:
Rebooting the computer.
Resetting the Router and modem.
Scanning for virus and spy-ware.
Setting up a new Internet connection.
Disabling my connection and re-enabling it.
Repairing the connection.

What do I try next?

Mines doing the same thing Ed. I was thinking virus but Norton says no virus. I had a hell of a time last night getting on the internet at all. Seems to be better today. I ran Bazooka, Ad-Aware, and Norton last night. I don't know?

Damn if you scanned for viruses I would be worried.

Update your virus definitions and then restart up back in Safe Mode and run your ANti virus program.

I just ran 2 on-line virus scanners and found nothing.
Its a pain in the ass. No rhyme or reason to it. It runs fine then Blamo, no Internet.

I am getting the same thing happening on my wireless network. Keeps getting disconnected and this started on Tuesday. I don't have to reboot, just right click my wireless icon and hit repair, but it is annoying.

I would be weary of receiveing emails from anyone even friends as my anti-virus program here at work has been catching a lot of emails like that. Hope you guys have a virus software checking your email.

eddy, what are you using for security settings on that router? I've noticed depending on the mode of security i use on mine(also linksys), my connection is either more or less reliable for both wired and wireless machines. have you tried running your lan cable directly from the modem to the machine your using when it does this? bypassing the router.

My computer does the same,i just throw something, break something, kick the computer, then yell at it and it will start working the next day.try it.

when it disconnects you, before you reboot, try going to network connections, open up your lan connection, disable it, then enable it. It should get a new IP. and be back on the net.

My Netgear FA311 is not xp certified and does this to me sometimes. that is how i get back on the net.
As for what causes it, i'm not sure, It only does it when i am playing WoW online.

Contact your provider and see if they're doing anything. I had the same issue with my cable company. All they did was send a "bullet" to my modem and it has been fine ever since then (2 weeks ago).

We all having the same problem. I was having a hard time to load any webpages yesterday. (Around 10pm central). Something to do with backbone issue?

Lots of complaints about Comcast around this part of the country. Just a thought.

Dude We have the biggest issues with comcast here, well at least i do,my net will go down for about a week, then it will come up and go down, and they won't do anything about it but piss me off when i call.

No comcast here. Time Warner is the line I pay for but it's funny because earthlink is considered to be my ISP. Just worked out to be cheaper that way in the long run. As far as issues with connectivity, Time Warner is who I have to address when there is a problem.

After they sent that "bullet" to resolve my problem (no connection at all), everything was ok. Actually, I am getting faster d/l rates now. Almost as if they were seeing who called and who didn't. Those that didn't were getting it illegally. Cat and mouse games!

Doesn't work. Thats the first thing I tried.
Comcast has been solid for me for over 8 years. This is the first issue and I'm not sure its a provider issue.
