Reving it in the air should be fine why do u think it's bad?

Not enough resistance. Makes it more likely that you can over-rev the engine and blow the piston/con-rod.

Quick blips are usually ok, but holding it WOT in the air is generally a bad idea.

if your high reving your engine off the ground.. probly you main cause of problems.. if they are snaps to lvl out on a big jump that is fine, flooring the rig to "test" is a engine killer, and if you seen gell at the tip of your stinger I'm sure there is residue in your carb and engine

well when it's too rich it bogs while holding it in the air.... That's how I try to find the sweet spot, so it won't over rev in the air unless it's running lean enough to rev out.

its best to always do that on the ground man, better safe then sorry ya no??
