day 3 and today went the same for me. Feeling pretty good after words.

a little late to the party but I'm going to start tomorrow.. anything to save money on oil lol!

@Johnez you're never to late to this party. Let us know how it goes!

While I haven't been updating this daily like I started, new job and all, I have been taking my cold shower every single day. The only time I've slipped was this morning. I went out last night and had maybe one to many than I should have and the cold shower just wasn't sounding good at all. I made up for it this evening and took one after doing yard work.

I've got to say, after the initial shock of getting in (still not over that yet, ha) I'm actually getting used to it. It's almost like jumping in a chilly pool and once you're in and wet it doesn't feel to bad. I won't say I "enjoy" it but find it some what comfortable and I feel great afterwords.

So far so good.

Started a few days ago.

Day 1: wasn't too bad. Didnt try for cold quite yet. Transitioned from Luke warm to cool.

Day 2: full of suck. Transitioned from cool to cold. Couldn't catch my breath for several moments. Skin felt different after drying. Almost as if the hot water was softer than cold.

Day 3: more full of suck. Started cold. Couldn't catch breath. Skin still felt weird after. It's amazing how much the insides of your legs and armpits expelled so much heat even in the cold water. And since its in general and not the cave, I'll leave shower companion out of it.

Man that sucked!....big time. I hate this challenge, my soap doesn't lather up right in cold water......and I'm still sssshhhaking...

I love cold water, and sometimes swim in the local river in the fall, but I enjoy my hot showers way too much. I will be following this though

I too am still not got past the breathe taking part. Every single time I step in it's that way for the first 20-30 seconds it seems. I've also noticed my soap doesn't lather as well in the cold. I certainly feel good after the shower though.

Today was my second cold shower...I almost switched to dish soap to see if it would lather better, but I can't show up at the job site smelling like lavender!

This is my big benefit: So we're standing around this morning at 5am waiting for the safety meeting to start I can see some of the guys in their sweaters and bib overalls shivering from the breeze and morning air.... I'm still in my cutoffs and t-shirt, i feel sorta comfortable!, except for the dam Mosquitos!

Things that annoy me: women, Mosquitos, reserves...women from mosquito reserve!...

I'm having no problem with it not other than the first shock, I get used to it quickly now. Just got off work, sticky and gross, gonna love this cold shower.

Day 4: Blew. Major suck age going on. Still hyperventilating for 2-3 minutes before the uncontrollable shaking occurs dial hair and body gel for men does not bubble at all. Skin still feels weird after.

Getting a lil more used to it.......no it still sux!, gave myself a stitch in my side by forcing myself not to hyperventilate

IDK if it has anything to do with the cold showers, but i have been having migraines since day 2. Took warm shower this morning, and no more migraine today. Hmmmm..... ill have to try cold again when i get off work in the morning, and see if migraine comes back.

Taken straight from the Mayo clinic page;

Some people who have migraines appear to be more sensitive to changes in the weather. Weather-related triggers include:

Bright sunlight
Hot or cold temperatures
High humidity
Dry air
Windy or stormy weather
Barometric pressure changes
For some people, weather changes may cause imbalances in brain chemicals, including serotonin, which can prompt a migraine. Weather-related triggers also may worsen a headache caused by other triggers.

Basically, it's you're brain saying "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?" :hehe: Seriously though, you guys are crazy. I hate being cold worse than almost anything on the planet. Working in it for years in a job where I built zero body heat and just sat and shivered gave me a loathing for being cold that I'll never let go of.

I'm like HPIGuy, hate being cold... winter and I don't get along. That said, these cold showers are a bit of a wake up call when I get in most of the times and some times something I look forward to.

Actually a cold shower on my neck, head and shoulders has always helped me get rid of a migraine. I hate the cold too, I'm guessing I would have no part in this if it werent so damn hot out side.

Its not right after the shower, its usually like an hour or so later that it starts. But its only been when it was straight cold water with no hot turned on at all.
