hello guys, I was working on my .21 the other day after a bash and when i took it apart one of the shoes was off... so I put it all back together and today it didnt want to move.. it seemed like they were just sliping.. what can I do about that?

If the clutch shoe is slipping, you need to increase the friction. How do you do that?

1. Buy new clutch shoes or lightly scuff sand the outer edges of the worn pair and use them
2. Clean the inside of the clutch bell with denatured alcohol to get rid of any grease, then lightly scuff sand the inside of the bell.
3. Or do all of the above.

Regardless, you need to determine if your clutch shoes have outlived their usefulness prior to proceeding...or you may end up taking the engine apart again to check the shoes.

ok thanks.. so for the inside of the clutch bell should i just take my dremel with a rough bit and go around the inside a few times.. and the clutch shoes are pritty new I bought them when over the winter when i was fixing it up.. so there not that old or used up..

Thanks SKY

After about a 1 - 1 1/2 gallons it is a good idea to change the shoes if they are a soft compound. Harder compounds should make it ~2 gallons before you should change them.

Do not use a dremel unless you intend to be way careful with the application. When I say lightly scuff sand it, I mean with some fine sand paper and just enough to scratch the surface up a little. If you use a dremel, there is the chance that you may change the inner diameter of the clutch bell in an uneven fashion (this is not a good thing).

i was just going to put a fine sanding bit in it and put it on low speed and go around once...

Dremel away at your own risk. :D

lol ... u shouldnt have said that... cus i went and did it already.. ahaha well I dont think it did anything from the looks of it... so well see whats going to happen..

Ok.... that didnt work.. now what??
