hi,
i am a bit confused. i have a metal 49t spur gears and also 49t carbon fibre spur gear. i would like to know which cb to use with
1. 49t metal spur grear - racing or heavy duty 18t cb?
2. 49 carbon spur gear ---racing or heavy duty?
thanks

If you are going to use the 49t metal spur gear you need a hardened clutch bell. It will have to be a 16t, 17t or 18t. Heavy duty and hardened are not the same. You can run the 49t carbon spur gear with the heavy duty 18t cb. Metal spur gear HAS to have a hardened clutch bell.

Just curious... where did you get a CF spur gear?

I'd think you would need a hardened CB to run against the steel spur. A normal racing/hd CB should work with the CF.

Can You Please Tell Me Where To Pick Up A Hardered Clutch Bell. What Hpi Part Number Is A Hardered Clutch Bell.?

Odds97_lls. I Bought It From Hk Jet Hobbies.

I don't know that they make one. Anytime I want a hardened bell, I go to tower and search up OFNA hardened
Even when I don't want a hardened bell, I get one of those. Just because regardless what I run them in, they will last longer than standard bells.

I like this one alot, I have it on my Savage. It's a hardened clutch bell and comes with the bearings and 3 different gears. 16t, 17t and 18t. It is made by Golden Horizons and the part #02054. I am using this clutch bell with a 49t metal spur gear. You should be able to access tower hobbies and put in the part # . Hope this helps

Here are workable combinations if it helps any:

hey I'm running 3.72/1? I figured with the 14cb/52sg it was lower than that? Looks like a 13t cb in my future.
