My Kyosho SuperTen has a set of pegs with spring-loaded pivoting pins in the ends that eliminated body clips, but it looks like they might not have caught on. I don't have a good pic of mine, but you can see the pivoting tabs on the front of this car.

Basically, gently push down on the body, flip the pivots 90 degrees (so the rounded end is vertical), and the body slips off and back on (flip them back horizontal to lock the body back on).

Does anybody know of any kind of mounting system like this? I've seen the 'latch style' systems for Monster Trucks, Crawlers, et al, but none of those would really work for the on-road cars.

If I had a 3D printer, I'd corner the market, but here we are. Not having to deal with clips during pit stops is huge. I think Serpent uses something similar, or at least they did.

Thoughts?

Wow - those are cool! Thanks!

I don't know how well they'd work on 1/10 cars, but I could probably use a set on my Jeep. I did a mod to the fenders years ago to allow them to swing open with the hood up, mostly to help work on the engine, but also blows people minds at car shows. Rather than having to unbolt the fasteners on the grille, these might come in handy as replacements. I've been thinking about using Dzus clips, but never got around to trying them out.

That is the coolest Jeep mod I have ever seen! And sweet bumper!

Thanks! It was fun to build the bumper, but it's more of a poser than functional. I realized there are only 2 sets of welds holding it to the bumper's frame-mounts I made, and it would likely fold up like a cheap card table if I ever found myself going endo. Still, it looked cool, but I went with a Fishbone Piranha bumper to clean things up.

Still gotta remount the winch, but I think I'll run without it for awhile until I get all the new stuff sorted out.

Can you make the radiator support tilt forward too? 🤔
Cool mods!

No, but there are only 3 mounting points once the fenders are open - the center post and both strut rods. Once the hoses and harness are disconnected, the grille comes right off.

You should name it the Sand Worm because it looks like the ones from 1984 Dune 😆

Very cool man!
