What is the best way to clean the car?

Spray it down and wipe it or do part by part?

How do you clean the inside of muffler?

How many drops of filter oil should be used after cleaning it?

Sorry for all of the Q's BUT this is probally my last toy for a while and I would like to keep it up and running!

the best way woulb be take it completely apart and i usually go out side and hose down every thing (except the electronics). bet a tooth brush and soap water and get to scrubbin. some of the guys here have those ultra sonic cleaner things. as for after run oil 3 to 5 drops is good.

I just blow mine off with a air hose. I usually wait till I break something before I clean it real good. Then WD40 on the parts I take off and blow then use an air hose.

Never cleaned the inside of a muffler. If you are worried about the residue leaking out, just get a plug for the stinger?

The air filter, want enough to wet it. Then sqeeze the excess out. About like you do with a lawnmower I guess.

Here is the answer to a lot of questions. https://www.rcnitrotalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7217

It's coming sooner than you think. I was into fixed wing aircraft first. After those were together, they never got worked on. Clean them up and put them away.
The cars..... If I run it, I have to wrench on it. Not a lot to them. Just keep the manual handy the first couple of times. Good Luck.

I usually spray mine down with simple green (watch out for the electronics) and then just take the airhose and spray all the gunk out. Works pretty slick.

The airfilter, Just put enough in to cover the whole filter.

Here is what I normally do after a day of bashing (Normally but I have skipped out a few times)

Remove the following and brush and/or spray clean

Body: Spray with DA and wipe off
Wheels/tires: depending on the grime, spray with DA on the rims and wipe of mud/dirt rspecially on the hexes.
Radio Tray: I clear out the RX, and battery so there is no crap in there to hurt my gear. For my 1/8th scale I like to wipe it down with WD-40. Gives it the new look. WD-40 is great on drive trains to protect from rust and corrosion.Just blow off the excess with an air compressor.
Fuel Tank: Clear out the fuel from there so there is none left. Leftover fuwl can gum up the lines and the stone filter if you have one in your tank.I like to leave this clean so the next time I fuel up there is no debris that can fall in there.
Tranny:Simple, 1/8th scale buggy I just spray em down and check for leaks.Rebuild if necessary. MT trannies: I just make sure there is no binding or cracks on the case. spray this down with WD-40 and blow off excess.
Engine: Remove the air filter and cap the venturi opening with a rubber boot. Remove the exhaust and cap with a rubber boot as well.I clean the exterior with DA and an old toothbrush.I don't spray the engine with WD-40 with fear of the rubber boot on the carb wearing out. When this finished I drop 2-4 drops of After run oil and cycle the engine manually, a few tugs on the pullstart or turn the flywheel a few times.

I remove these mainly to get a clean view of the chassis so there is no dirt or mud build up.

Other things I do is to look at the air filter and boot and see if there is dirt build up or the foam needs to be cleaned and re-oiled. Use air filter oil NOT after run oil. I normally soak it and let it sit in it for a while or just leave it in the bag till I go out bashing. Don't oil the pre filter or the big one that covers the main filter.

Check fittings like zip ties on exhausts if you use a rubber coupler and the gasket to the engine. Users with one piece pipes check the gasket for wear and springs for worn out ones. Replace these if they are loose and have little tension.

Recharge the RX if you use a rechargeable pack or replace Alkalines as needed.

The exhaust I would just use an air compressor and clear it out. This is not that necessary unless you just are not cleaning out your ride at all. Just make sure you point the stinger away from you and anyone else when you blow it out.

Did I miss anything?

I like to do a complete teardown after a full day of running, leaving only the diffs and brake assembly intact. Hit everything with either DA or simple green or oil eater on the really oily parts. Use an old toothbrush and a green scotchbrite pad to get any gunk off. Rinse with water and blow off with air hose. Before reassembly check all bearings to make sure they spin freely and inspect all parts/screws for cracks or damage. Pay close attention to dogbones, drive cups, and hingepins. Replace any worn parts and reassemble making sure to use loctite on all metal to metal screws.
