I understand where you're coming from, But for me i've had and used android phones\tablets, google accounts and Google chrome for over a decade and i've never had any problems with them ever. And i mainly want the IXSR for the easy to use interface, AVC and i just want a high end radio i also want to prevent buying another cheap Chinese junk radio like my RC8X. Sorry to hear about your experience about google. I hope you understand but it's my money you shouldn't judge people for what for what they want to buy with their own my money. But i digress.
I'm not judging anyone. Everyone's experience is different here.
My point is based directly at Google and the merger between them and Spektrum.
I don't think I implied or said anything about the ppl the Google rapes every day.
Its unfortunate, not something that pleases me at all.
I agree that its your money and you get to spend it how you like.
There are a LOT of ppl who know a LOT more about radios than I ever will.
I base my recommendation to you based on what I have learned by asking similar questions.
I have no skn in this game nor a favorite manufacturer other than my experience with Futaba 30 years ago and they were AWESOME back then!
I own a 10 year old Spektrum DX4C and it feels awkward and cheap in my hands. I won't be buying another Spektrum product based on my experience with them and because of this merger.
No judgement.

Oh okay, Sorry i snapped at you i've also been looking around at other radios like the MT12 and it seems decent i also looked at the TX16 which is an aircraft TX and i wish they made a surface version of it with a touchscreen computer interface like my RC8X or the iXSR does but as it's own thing. It's just the MT12 looks cheap and primitive i just wish Radiomaster would make something like my RC8X although i heard the MT12 feels good in the hand and it's fairly high quality. If Radiomaster came out with a touchscreen radio like the iXSR or RC8X but with a system like the TX16 and the capabilities of the MT12 i would probably consider it. And i agree everybody's experience is different for me personally i like Samsung android phones and i used to like Google chrome until it started having glitching issues on my desktop so i started using Mozilla Firefox instead. And i've also been using windows pc's for almost 20 years and still do even though everybody hates on 11 i'll continue using until i have no choice to move to something else or upgrade to the next windows os. Sorry for the huge ramble.

This is when r/c hobby bleeds into real life. R/C IS a way of life! 🤣
I didn't feel like you snapped.👍🏻
I can express myself poorly, esp on line or in a text.
I try to assume its my communication skills (and maybe a bit of autism or ocd too!) that have led a discussion astray.
I believe Radiomaster is working to develop a more "race oriented" or maybe it was worded as "surface oriented"? radio. They started as a flight radio if I understand correctly. They want to make a better product for us if I understand.
They need input to impliment change.
The radio is just so capable and so inexpensive for its ability... I really want to try one out!
I have always used Futaba. They make great gear! Its the prices that have pushed me away fron Futaba.
If I get to be super race driver Mike, I'll think about $1000 radios but until then, I'm just Mike and I crash a lot and its not the radio's fault! 🤣
We were saying that its out choice as to how we spend our money.
My Revo and Jato radio's worked fine, no issues. Same with my Spektrum SLT2 and 3 from rtr's BUT I would not go out to buy any of those systems to install in something I'm building.
I guess thats what I mean about the MT12. Its an open source platform. They WANT you to expand it and make it suit your needs.
Its the opposite of most radio companies...
"Oh, you want 2 more channels??? That puts you into the 16 channel radio class. Those start at $900."
Thats just nonsense imo!
Now we have an option at least!

You're all right i have autism as well and i know what it's like. And for the radio side i started out with Traxxas 2.4Ghz radios and my first aftermarket radio was a Futaba T4PM and i still have and it's great radio it just doesn't have what i want in a radio system and they Discontinued the only other one i was interested in it was the 7PXR. As an alternative i bought the RC8X from Radiolink but it started having glitching issues and other issues related to their company is the reason i started looking for another new radio. And once Spektrum announced the IXSR which is a newer version of the old DX6R which i also wanted but couldn't get even though the radio itself and the receivers are expensive but knowing what the reviews were like for their other radios and this one got really good reviews. But now that i started doing more research on Radiomaster and their products i don't know which i should still go although it's hard to say no to something that cost as much as a DX6C without a receiver and gets good reviews.

I think Radiolink was the brand that ppl liked and they ran updates that crashed everyone's gear?
I am not positive on brand name on that but def gotta watch it when you're buying in unfamiliar territory! This is why I love being on a forum.
No one is getting paid to promote products here as far as I know. The reviews and opinions are honest from ppl who I can directly interact with if I have questions. There is no veil to hide behind. Ppl here will call you out if they disagree with something and help you if you are struggling to grasp a products funtion.
THAT is why I tagged @DavidB1126 about the radios. He's been through a fair amount of good and bad with radios.
I value his input here. 👍🏻
@bill_delong is a racer here with lots of experience and ge also recommended a Noble NB4.
If I don't end up with an MT12, the NB4 will likely be my next radio.

Yep. Not to mention the shady issues behind the scenes with them censoring and blocking people from their groups, and customer service issues. Experienced the same issues as @CJSRCLIFE was having. Tried for 6 plus months to collaborate and help them fix it. They kept denying their faults so I just gave up and moved.

I have thought it through and i might get a Radiomaster MT12 in the next coming months if it turns out to be successful i might just stick with it and not get a Spektrum DX6C or IXSR. But if the MT12 doesn't succeed you all know what will happen i'll go to a Spektrum radio regardless. Also a question for you all, Do you all know if a Flysky FS-BS6 receiver will fully work awhile also retaining the gyro function? Or maybe know how to set the gyro function to be adjustable on one of the knobs on the radio itself. If anyone knows please let me know.

Manual for GT5 / BS6 is here: Manual

Section 2 deals with Gyro calibration

Section 6 deals with setting up the Intelligent Vehicle Control in the model menus.
Thanks for that, Although i'm not 100% decided if i want to go that route yet or if i want to stay safe with Spektrum. The MT12 would probably be a great budget option but i still ultimately want the iXSR sometime in the future regardless of what people say about Google and Spektrum.

@Greywolf just picked up an mt-12 also.
I'm waiting to hear what he says about how it feels.
No one has mentioned that it feels cheap and many have said that it feels well built.
I think the "budget" part of this radio is tha lack of a "big" name on it.

The true test of the invasive nature of the Spektrum/Google radios will be in the permissions.
If the user has FULL control over the functionality and the apps installed, that radio might just be the best thing since slided bread.
I'll bet you a shiny nickel that you don't have a say at all though. I anticipate functionality to be much like every other android device, which is Google spyware by nature and by Google's own admittance.
I'm not tyng to judge you or anyone else for wanting nice things.
What I'm saying is that if NO ONE folds and allows Google to spy on us AND OUR KIDS through R/C, Spektrum will fins a new and better wsy to deliver these features.
We don't all REALLY need cameras in our phones. I prefer one without.
Now, open up google and look up cell phones without a camera and tell me how many of them don't competely SUCK otherwise.
Why can't we shut off our bluetooth and other "features". Not in foreground. Actually disable or straight up remove it.
I'm suggestimg that if WE don't fold for radio controlled spyware, Google will have to go sniffing around somewhere else.
This is the furthest thing from a personal comment. If anything a comment of the complacency of society in general and what we have come to accept as a "reasonable tradeoff" for comfort.
Google makes BILLIONS off THIS!
THIS makes me "worry".

How's it going everyone? And i finally got paid again so i bought something a new radio a Spektrum DX6C with an SR315 receiver on sale for $145 from Amazon along with a SR6200A AVC receiver so it all totaled to almost $240 with tax. But at least i can start moving on from the RC8X and into what will hopefully be more reliable and still have a gyro like thing in the receiver as well as set myself up for an IXSR in the future. I know the DX6C is cheap and not as fancy as both my RC8X and my 4PM but at least it has more capable technology and is from what i know more reliable than an RC8X.

I feel this is what i should have done last year even if the older DX5C was the only one available at the time. Learn from my mistake don't buy a Radiolink RC8X or any other cheap radio from a no name Chinese company you'll end up in the same position i did. Do yourself a favor and least get something from a reputable company like Flysky, Spektum, Sanwa or Futaba or keep your RTR radio like Traxxas TQ, TQI or Spektrum SLT3 or DX3. But i digress

Quick question, can you provide the information on the merger between Google & Spektrum?

I was under the impression that its an android device. Android and google are all part of the same conglomerate. I imagine they are also providing the apps for this radio.
This is as it was advertised. Said it included Youtube. Youtube is Google.
This is my association between the two.
There may have been changes made since that no longer include it. 🤷‍♀️
I did not mean to give the impresson that Horizon was owned by Google or anything.
Horizon owns Spectrum and about 100 other rc companies.

Thanks! As you can see I'm doing my research.

Thank you! I feel like thats real important when it comes to privacy as well as investing your hard earned money into the product that will likely be the last radio you'll buy for some time.
You're WAY better off to ask the questions now! 👍

I'm not sure if android is Google but i definitely know YouTube is owned Google they bought it out when i was a kid and when you sign into YouTube it uses a Google account. I've had 3 accounts with them in my lifetime i made my current one 13 years ago.
