Hi everyone, How's it going tonight? This is the November 2024 RC Updates and talk about future plans as well as talk about stuff in the hobby world or other stuff in my life at the moment. Today i just got in my order from Amain Hobbies, I got a Castle USB V3, SkyRC GNSS GPS Performance analyzer, Spektrum digital program box V2 and a Castle 250mm direct connect sensor wire for Mamba, Copperhead and Cobra series ESC's. Here's a pic of them as i got them in.

Here's a shot of the Castle link working on my laptop and connected to my Felony's MMX8s.

I changed some settings on the MMX8s like changed the reverse from 50% to 25% and updated my ESC's firmware but most importantly i changed the BEC voltage from 5.5V to 8.0V although my current servo only is rated up to 6.8V i believe but it's so much faster but still won't straighten out when going right. So i will definitely need to get a new servo someday but hopefully i can get a couple more runs before it either shorts out or i get tired of it. I also got the sensor wire installed in the Felony and you also might be able to tell that my new GPS speedometer is charging but off my LIPO charger a GA Imars G300 since it has a USB Type A port on it. So i'm hoping if things dry up where i'm at by Wednesday i can test everything out and see how i like my setup.

As for plans moving forward, After Thanksgiving i might be on a Christmas hiatus depending on weather conditions who knows as well as doing some Christmas shopping for my family and maybe doing some personal stuff like gaming as i just started playing Lego Star Wars the Skywalker Saga on Nintendo Switch. But things should resume on January and i'll be continuing to buy more Spektrum receivers for my DX6C to then eventually use with my future iXSR if i still decide to go that route. Goodnight everyone.

The warehouse is getting stocked well! Nice haul!
Thanks for the kind words, Today i got to test my changes and my new GNSS GPS out when i ran the Felony today. She got up to 48 - 49 mph on 6s with the MMX8s\1717 combo she has on a 16 tooth pinion no screenshot unfortunately i forgot to get one. But here's a pic after today's run.

She ran great after reprogramming the ESC and adding the sensor wire she as i said went 48 - 49 mph on my street going as straight as i could with the poor performing servo still with a 16 tooth pinion and the stock 46 tooth spur. I believe with the right conditions, gearing and voltage she could hit 100mph without many problems i hope.

Also she definitely needs a servo upgrade sometime soon even with the BEC on the MMX8s turned up to 8.0V the servo didn't want to recenter when turning right but would recenter when turning left. So next thing i need to do is a servo upgrade still deciding which one to buy Perfect Pass, Ecopower or AGF and lastly by next year she needs all new tires. But after all that she should be all clear for power and speed upgrades like gearing up or more volts like 8s since she has a MMX8s.

Goodnight to you all.

Great looking car.
Thank you so much, I've been in love since i built her so much that i have temporarily retired my XO-1 after it broke down gotta love these Arrma's as much as i tried to love my XO-1 and been trying to give it chance. the Felony just excelled and surpassed my expectations so far even in a less than half a year time frame. There is so much that this car and setup can do i just speed tested it today with my new GNSS GPS and she achieved 48 - 49 MPH running on 6s and a 16 tooth pinion same gearing as stock but with the lower 1,650kv Castle motor vs the stock 2,050kv Spektrum motor it went 14 - 16 mph slower than stock.

I haven't taken any of my bashers out since last summer I think, my health has been pretty bad but I'm getting better.
Oh sorry to hear you're health isn't doing great right now. I'm glad you're starting to get better hopefully you can get out and bash before it gets too cold.

i wanna see some videos of it!!!! i want a felony or an infraction in a major way, their in my top 4 cars to aquire someday.
great update bro
Both are awesome platforms certainly more approachable that their competition like an XO-1 or even a Limitless and both can be made into extreme speedrun platforms but for that i would recommend the Infraction. Both are amazing street bashers in stock form you don't really need big power like an MMX8s combo like mine has. Also i'm not sure if i can get running videos of it just yet since i don't have proper camera gear to record with but we'll see what next year brings and there's also plenty of YouTube videos of these RC's since they have been on the market for awhile now.

100mph!!!??? Yeah, even @50 I think my very next purchase/project would be to get that steering 100%!!!
Thats really fast!
Now that you hav# a gps, you can track each change and put a little science behind your adjustments.
I bet you'll start dialling in and get a lot faster, quickly now!

That's the plan to buy a new servo for the Felony hopefully by next month or by my birthday in January. It sure is fast to have fun but not too fast to where it's scary before i stripped down my XO-1 it had the same system with a 20 Tooth pinion and it was scary.

Nice! Any thoughts on what servo you might buy?
I thought of the perfect pass or an AGF but i might just do Amains Ecopower the WP250T. All of them get pretty good reviews but the Ecopower seems to get the best reviews. But it may have to wait until my birthday since i've got Christmas to deal with and other non RC stuff to do. But we'll see what happens, did you hear about those new 223s Arrma 1\10 Scale SCT's?

I have heard ppl say good things about ecopower.
I think I've heard of Perfect Pass too but not 100%.
The AGF rc servos are very much likevthe Reefs servos. I've been curious to hear opinions on these.

The Arrma is the same chassis as my Granite 3s m-t.
I've sort of seen it! 🤣
My impression of Arrma's 3s truck is that you should expect to upgrade the steering and the suspension to the 4s line up parts.
The 3s stuff isnmt strong enough to handle big tires and 3s imo.
I have only read about ppl upgrading to 4s and being happy, have not done it to mine.
I'd stick with the Gorgon. I really like mine. Certainly not the same trucks though!

I believe Ecopower is an Amain Hobbies brand and i've heard good things about them except for their lower end servos.

Perfect Pass is pro speedrunner Raz Shifrin's company and i've had his QS-8 V2 connectors in the past and their great also his servo seems to get mostly good reviews

I believe the new Senton 223s comes with metal diffs as standard as well as a center diff like the one from the new 4s Mojave and the V2.5 Kraton\Outcast 4s trucks. The only thing i'm not liking about the new Senton is the 2 in 1 ESC\Receiver which the receiver part is only compatible with SLT protocol not DSMR like most newer Spektrum equipped Horizon RTR's and what my DX6C supports. I was thinking about buying the Senton to eventually replace my old Slash 4x4 Ultimate but i may choose not to but who knows. I also have a Vendetta but it's having diff issues since the plastic diffs seem to bind and you need to put a lot of shims into them but eventually i plan to go to 4s metal diffs on that car.

How's it going everyone? Here's a late night update but i realized yesterday or last week has been a month since i bought my first new Spektrum radio a DX6C to get started on my long journey to build up my DSMR receiver collection and eventually buy an iXSR.

Here's the radio next to my Arrma Felony the first car i put a AVC receiver into and bound it to.

So far i've been liking the radio and their receivers so far it has exceeded my expectations and has been very reliable even where i live it maintains full signal strength and can go as far as i could it see my car and still have control over it. The only thing i wish it had was the 5.5ms frame rate capability like it's more expensive counterparts like the DX5 Pro 2021 or the new Flagship iXSR are capable of. But considering what i paid initially for it which was $145 on Amazon for the Radio unit and a SR315 receiver that came included i also bought the SR6200A AVC receiver to put into my Felony so with tax i paid over $230 in total. But overall i'm pleased with my first outing with Spektrum and i'm hopeful that will transfer over to the iXSR when i buy mine.

Before you go, If you didn't already know my previous radio was a Radiolink RC8X which i discontinued using due to issues of my own and ones similar to what @DavidB1126 experienced with his unit and you can read about them here https://www.rctalk.com/forum/threads/new-radio-radiolink-rc8x.138874/
And the DX6C has helped me escape from that disaster of a product into what will hopefully be a better time and maybe help me have a radio to bind all my future DSMR equipped Arrma's and Losi to. Goodnight everyone.

I guess we'll see what happens. I'd like to hear about the Senton if you get one.
I also don't care for the Arrma 2 in 1 but I plan to swap out all the electronics in the Gorgon when the brushes go or when I feel like getting crazy. 🤣
I'm glad you're happy with your new radio!

I'll see if i still want the Senton when the time comes i started looking at the 4s Mojave since it has a receiver that i could use and better electronics than the new Senton although that due to me being at a higher level in the hobby. And i get why Horizon went with a 2 in 1 ESC and Receiver combo it's mainly targeted at the Entry level market to maybe take on the BL-2s Traxxas Slash 4x4 and still try to be 3s capable. And yeah i've been really liking my DX6C and next year i'll be collecting more receivers to bind to it and eventually get an iXSR but for now i'm happy with the DX6C.

I can only say that in my research, the Arrma 4s looks "better" everything looks a bit bigger and better built.
I don't own any.
I'm happy that you're rid of the radio that makes you sad!
Spektrum isn't my first choice necessarily but it beats "sad face, broke car" brand ALL day!!!
How are you finding the Spektrum receiver pricing?
I have heard some ppl say its a reason to avoid Spektrum over Flysky for instance.
