Need input! I'm getting a new rig for X-mas, but I'm not sure what to get. I want a bad-ass truck for bashing, with the occasional race thrown in. I don't mind building the Sav, and I've had a T-Maxx for about 5 yrs, so a Revo looks good too. Also I've heard some good things about the LST, but I'm wondering about reliability issues. Any advice would be much appreciated.

PS: Please don't flame on different makes, but good constuctive suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Revo is new but has a lot of new innovative suspension designs.

Savage is tried, true and proven.

Seen both in action and they seem to both be strong, durable, and can be a racer or basher.

Do a search on these two.

The Revo is my pick fast new and redesigned.
The savage would be next very durable.
and I would not get a LST apperently they have weak a arms.and their shocks have only afew positions so they can't be dialed in to a track as much as the Revo or Savage. plus the tires are so huge it can be hard to balence in the air, very sensitive to the throttle and brake balencing.

I would say the savage just becasue I have one, then the revo.
If you like noise go with the savage if you want to build your car, go with the savage.
If you want to race get the revo, If you live around old people , get the revo.

Revo, hands down for the following reasons: I've seen the Revo,Savage and LST side by side, handeled them, watched them get thrashed. The guy with the LST was very disapointed, as it had constant issues with the a-arms and clutch. Although it did jump very well. It will be a nice rig once the issues are resolved.
The Savage is a very tough truck. It handles amazingly well for it's high center of gravity and would be my second pick .
After my observations listed above, I purchased two Revo's and broke them in as per instructions. Everything went very well, although we had to use a heat gun on one of them to get it started.
The Revo is amazingly quick for a .15! The tranny shifts very smoothly and the slipper clutch is easy to adjust. Only flaws I'm aware of are the shock rod ends being plastic tend to melt from the pipe, and the wheel nuts kept loosening causing the plastic wheel hub to strip, thus taking out the accompaning wheel( a brief call to Traxxas took care of that, new set of wheels enroute, no questions asked!).
To date we are amazed that the Revo's haven't brocken yet! We have been thuroughly thrashing these thing on a daily basis. I've put about a 1 gallon thru the two in the past three days, with zero problems other than what I listed above.
They have excceeded our expectations substantialy! I'm VERY pleased and would highly recommend them to you!
PS.
The guy with the LST bought a Revo and is very pleased!

Thanks for all the great feedback! I'm leaning hard towards the Sav SS, but I may have to get a Revo when finances allow. I've read the forums to research and such, and I appreciate your advice. Thanks!

OK, so far the Sav SS is very durable, I can incorporate the hop-ups I want when I build it, and the Revo is pretty durable and hi-tech. Unless there's another rig out there that I haven't thought of, I think I'll get the Sav SS with the 4-spider mod, servo saver mod, and 3-speed when it comes out. Thanks again.

both trucks are good .... and I think everyone should build at least one rc car to see how they work... You will be gald you own a savage.

Savage, I have 2 complete and a 3rd I'm building. Love em, super tuff drives very nice. I want a revo, I may pick one up this spring? Dont need it but it would be nice!

well i also want to buy another truck like an impulse buy ..i really like the lst but i keep hearing bad things about it ..i like the revo but id rather get big block cuz i dont like small blocks

Well, looks like the Sav SS is discontinued. I'm looking for the SE but I haven't found it yet. I was waiting for the 3-speed to release so I can order it all together...Oh well, any-one have a link to the SE?

Savage SS discontinued WHAT!!! what is the savage se... I havnt heard nothing about this someone please fill me in. I heard they where making a savage with a .28 but it is all talk so far.

SE (special Edition) will not come with an engine or pipe and is most likely a rip off because for 299 you get the ss kit for 269 you get the se. I'll stick with the ss. or maybe the 3 speed will come installed and thats what the delay is. if that occurs I' ll change my mind and put a wasp or picco in it. hope I ve been helpful
