I'm a little new to Nitro. Can someone please suggest the cheapest place for me to buy a JRXS3 Radio online?

I found one for $199. Any other suggestions

Would a 75 MHZ be worth more then a 27MHZ. Theyre asking a little more for the 75 MHZ. Whats the difference?

If i were i would probally go to ebay and look on there becouse they usually have the best deals.

Harry, the 75mhz is FM and the 27mhz is AM. With the FM you'll get a better, clearer signal with less glitches compared to the AM. If you have friends that you run with you'll also have more choices for frequencies.

Get the 75. There are more channels available with the 75.

You're not so new that you couldn't choose a good radio.

Excellent call.

I still need to get one of those.

Please share where u found it for $199. The cheapest I've seen it for is $239.

Yeah where can you get this radio for $200? Then I can get my lhs to match it.hehe.

Peace

Thanks you all for the advice

The one I seen for under $200 on the internet was a JR XR3i. I made a mistake. Sorry fellows. Didnt mean to get your hopes up.

I just picked up a JR XS3/75 MHZ off Ebay slightly used(2-3 months)/everything included from a reputable ebayer for $175 with Buy it now option. He just listed it 20 minutes ago. I just happened to update my Ebay screen and it popped up. I picked it up like a vulture. He lives 20 minutes from me so I dont have to pay shipping either.
I'm gonna go out right now and buy some nice imported beer with the $30 - 50 I saved. :wasted::dancin::dancin:

Can you just swap out crystals and go from 27 (AM) to 75 FM if you swap the crystals in both the receiver and radio?

I have the JR Xr2 and it's 75MHZ AM. At least it says 75MHZ and AM...

Transmitters

Just FYI, transmitters can be had in FM or AM in both 75mhz or 27mhz - the modulation does not determine the frequency.

This will not work for you, sorry. AM typically will not work with FM crystals and vice-versa. AM is AM and FM is FM, no changing. Same with frequency, 75mhz crystals will not work for 27mhz units.

I got nearly the same deal you did on eBay... $170 for a 75mhz JR XS3, including the blue custom wheel, JR travel case, all the batts (NiMH), two servos (standard), the receiver and a transmitter charging jack/receiver battery charging jack. Everything works great and I am very happy with the deal. I caught it within the hour it was listed - totally lucky. And to top it off shipping was free. Life's good.

You got lucky on that one you vulture. Good buy
Carrying case and charger. Thats $30+ alone.
I paid 175 + 10 shipping. The guy was 30 minutes away from me but I didnt realize it till after he sent it. I had to get a JR charger and sanyo battery pack for the transmitter which cost me $40. But I'm still happy since it was in mint condition as described. I hear there are alot of bogus and messed up XS3's floating around Flea Bay.
