Hi there,
This has been discussed in the past. The main reason from what I understand is...by having all questions answered in the forum it becomes a large archive of RC answers and there respective questions. This way this can be used for searching purposes. Hope that answers your question.

I would say this is the wrong forum for this thread but that last time I did that one of the staff nearly bit my head off. This is the perfect forum for this type of thread. In no way should this be in the suggestions forum.
As far as the chat room goes, there are chat programs out there that have filters that you can filter out certain words of your choosing.

This thread is on its normal rotation...seems to be due for another round of discussion.
The end result of a chat room is the loss of archival data for those that miss the chat. Yes, chat logs can be generated and kept....but the forum works much better. If you want to chat, most everyone here has AIM, YAHOO or MS Chat or some other chat capability. You can check for their username in their profile and hit them up...or you can try and have a chat get together. Just post the time, chat flavor, and chatroom name so that members can join in as they may.
Aside from that, I'd say an RCNT hosted chatroom while a nice touch would detract from the forum.

That works if someone is online at the moment and knows the answer to your question...but think of how much fun it would be to sit and chat with yourself because no one else is on or available to help. That is one advantage the forum has over chat. Regardless of when you post, you can expect someone to answer or respond withing twelve hours and in many cases much sooner than that....just not quite live.
