If I were to make a connector that would fit my TX's battery tray (it's 8 AA's but it has a Futaba J connector on the end) would it be a good idea to charge the batteries in the tray via the plug? I have a separate 4-AA charger but it takes too long.

Also, if I can find a 10-volt transformer with the right kind of plug would I be able to charge the batteries directly through the charge port on the TX?

I could probably make one of those if I could find a spare female Tamiya plug. I don't have any laying around right now though.

These are 2600 mah AA's so I shouldn't have a problem charging them at 1 amp.

I actually noticed your free plug adaptors ad. The battery tray pulls out of the TX and has a Futaba J plug on the end of it. Wouldn't using a J adaptor (that's what you're giving away I think?) work the same way?

I know what you're saying about using the J adapter, and since I have the same setup on my Futaba, I'm going to try it out in just a minute. I'll let you know how it works. PM me your address and I'll get this adapter out to you.

What's the max temp these batteries are ok to get up to? I just charged them in the charger that came with the batteries and they got up to around 130 degrees before it indicated that they had peaked.

They're 2600 mah NiMH's charging at 525 mah.
