how do i change my spur gear on my traxxas nitro rustler? it has a 70 tooth gear on it now and i wanna put my 72 tooth gear on for better acceleration. the problem is the 72 gear wont fit in the space. its like i need to move the transmission back or the engine forward to compensate for the bigger gear. what do i need to do to make it fit? i dont see a way of moving the engine or tansmission. I'm new to this. thanks

There should be 4 screws which go through the chassis plate up into the engine block or mount (don't have a N-rusty so not sure how it's mounted). Loosen them and you can slide the engine back and forth to set the mesh. The tranny should be solidly mounted and you won't have to remove that. It's not adjustable anyway. You'll probably have to remove the engine completely to have enough room to pull the smaller spur and mount the larger one. Then just reinstall the engine, set the mesh and you're on your way.

i got the gear on.thanks a lot candyman. you were 100% right

the nitro rusty has a two part engine mount. the 4 screws are acually pointing downward. just my late .02$ glad you already figured it out.
