think i need a new one

I use lucas oil stabilizer in mine. Its thick as molasses and you can buy a quart of it at the auto parts store and never have to buy anymore ever again. In my tmaxx i just recently bought some bad horsie diff locking grease to try. Now thats some thick and very sticky stuff!! Some guys actually use plumbers putty or silly putty to semi lock the diffs. If the grease i bought doesn't do what i want I'm gonna try the plumbers putty myself. Also when you replace the gears or get new diffs make sure you shim them in order to better the lifespan of them.

A good quality brand of silicon diff oil will be what you need for a 1/8 scale nitro buggy.
Depends whats around where your located. Venom would be ok to use, I just put that in my front diff, 7000Wt. Check you LHS to see what they stock.
Try something like 5000Wt to start with or a little higher, like 7000wt, depends on the set up you want, thicker will give less slippage front to back but might make the car harder to handle in corners. I have 7000Wt front, 5000Wt centre & putting 4000wt in the rear. But I'm trying to set it up for handling on the track & not just bashing so it depends what you do. If bashing then probably could go a little thicker. 7000Wt seems pretty thick though.

If I remember correctly I'm using 7000wt in my center diff, 5,000 in the front and 3,000 in the rear of my OFNA MBX 9.5. I use OFNA brand diff silicone. Its a good brand for a decent price.
