Fellas,
I have a problem with the center diff on my buggy. Something has slipped out of placed or I have broke something inside the thing because it's acting like my brakes are constantly on. I have to pull the trigger on the Radio I can spin the wheels but when I release the trigger I have the problem. I also tried to spin the center diff with my fingers with the trigger pulled but I still get no love. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.

I was just getting what I thought was familiar with tuning that GX-21 engine(which means Get Xtra .21 engine) when BAM the car cut off from idle. I didn't hit any rocks or jump anything I didn't even go top speed. So, that being said in the near future like next month I will be buying a new buggy hopefully one that will get me some not to harsh experience so that one day I will be able to race on a pro level(yeah right). What I would really like to do is actually run a car until it run out of gas without it cutting off!:winnar: So what are some suggestions, any are welcome. Thanx

hotep75,

no matter what the problem is I think the first thing you need to do is take your center diff apart, not very difficult at all. Once you have it apart if it all seems ok then repost and we'll go from there. It's hard toget answers if you havent troubleshot it yourself at all:confused:

Lightfytr,

Thanx for the reply. I did troubleshoot my buggy but I didn't know what the common problems you and others might have experienced in the past. I didn't want to do something unnecessary but I learned more about the buggy this way anyway.

The problem I found was a broken clutch spring and some serious wear on the clutch bearing. I asked the guy at my LHS what was the reason it broke and he simply stated "it's cheap" and that was the extent of his english. So I bought the new more durable part and I should be on the road in no time.

well hotep

welcome to rc cars. most car kits come with at least one cheap part, usually more to cut costs. believe me i know. well hope your up and running soon.:dancin:

id like to help but I'm just getting back into RC myself, i also purchased a 7.5 sports and would like to say that its a very disappointing return my old fav hobby. I've had nothing but problems with the GX21, was returned for new piston+liner after 1/2 gallon, now I'm begining to have the same problems with the engine again and have also noticed last time i ran the engine the HSN setting had changed i think, can't get the holy moly thing running again to see :) me thinks its going back again, but i can't really be arsed with all the fu*king about and waiting, so i think the only soloution to me prob is to get a better engine.

As far as general bulid of the car goes I'm quite happy with it apart from is weak suspension, and my now slightly twisted chassis :)

can't wait to get a decent engine into it, hopefully soon.

Thats odd, I've ran over a gallon through my GX and it runs fine, easy to tune, and no degredation in performance as yet.

I think you should check your clutch too.. it may be stuck engaged.. which will make the motor die at idle..

thats odd why? just because your engine may be running fine dont mean mine should be.

Also.. a sticking clutch will make it seem the center diff isnt turning.. cuz when your motor gets to top dead center.. it is tight.. and will be hard to turn
