Cen or traxxas?

I want a really fast nitro car and I have two choices, the cen ct4 s or the traxxas 3.3? I am leaning to the cen, what do you think? :whip:

out of the 2 i would say the traxxas. i'm not a big fan of cen, but thats just my oppinion.

FYI the traxxas 4 tec w/ a 3.3 was just tested on RCCA recently.

Welcome to RCNT Nizzan My first R/C was a Cen 1/10 scale, I had a blast with till I sold it. Other than brecking often, and parts where avalable thru my lhs and cheep. Is this your first R/C? There is alot of info here on this site so don't be afraid to ask...just don't pay any attention to Jon2, Sweetdiesel, Monkey wrench, Fast Eddy...I could go on but you get the picture.LOL

If your worried with just the speed, I'm gonna guess your a noob to the sport. The 4 tecs are fast but handle like poop and are basically only good within a straight line. I had one and it got stolen and I actually felt bad for the guy who stole it. And a Cen is a Glorified smarttech if ya ask me.

Well, first I am not a newb. I have had a gas car, but it broke and after I spent hundreds repairing it, it still wasn't right, so I gave up nitro rc cars. Now, I am ready to give nitro another chance. I dont race my rc cars, so cornering isnt a real concern to me. I just want a car that makes people go " holy @%@$ thats fast!!"! The cen is really good at cornering though in case I ever thought about racing it!

Again opinions will fly but in all honesty. Research the product before throwing your cash down. I said I would never buy a nother Traxxas product after my Tmaxx but here I am with the Revo 3.3 .

The CEN and Traxxas have their own reps to stand on. When I had my first RC10 buggy back aboout 15+ years ago, I would drive only that then the Losi JRx2 came and I was all over that. You try different things to experience something new. The fellas here are just trying to give you their opions to save you a headache they may have gone through.

Let us know what you get. BTW Ignore that Nevnitro and Zandor..Straight up posers....

This is why I am asking all of you this question. I dont want to spend my money on a car I wont use in the future. I did that last time, and well, it kinda sucked, pps: and I dont want it to happen again. You all are pros (in my book) so thats why I'm askin you.

I guess I should do some more research. Is there anything I should look for to find me the best car?

4 tecs and Cens blow ass. Anyone who has owned one will tell ya that. And if your looking for something that is fast and can actaully take a turn, you should look at something more high end like a Serpent, Mugen etc..

A. 4U2NV is just bitter because he lives in Minnesota and has a crappy broadband connection. Don't mind him.

B. Zandor hates everything! He's what happened to Mikey from the old Life cereal commercials! It's also because he just bought a 1977 Lincoln Towne Car and thinks he's Huggy Bear now!

C. Never owned a CEN, so I can't speak to that. My only suggestion surrounding the CEN would be local parts availability. I'd at least check it out before going with it.

D. My brother-in-law owns a Traxxas 4-Tec and, frankly, 4U's right. Unless that thing is going in just about a dead straight line, it's a bitch to handle! If you are looking for a solid road car with good parts support, I'd suggest a Team Associated NTC3. I just got one and it is much easier to drive than the 4-Tec and just about as quick!

E. Nevnitro is a closet cactus-poacher...'nuff said!

Somewhat true. It has made me a lil bitter in the last few days. I did have a 4 tec though, and it blew ass. Was one of my 1st nitro's and damn near made me quit the hobby. I wouldnt suggest it to anyone. And cen.. Thats just been a know fact that they blow. The motors isnt the main problem (Its one, but not the only one). They just handle like ass. Some companies only worry getting noobies hooked so they will advertise big MPH, because thats what most noobs are concerned with. You could have the fast car on the block but if it handles like ass, you WILL get beat by alot slower car that handles better.

I have decided to go with the Cen. I am going to buy it tomorrow morning, then I'm going up to the local rc plane "airport thing" to watch some people fly. These people are almost as nuts about their planes as I am with my cars!!

good thing you took what people had to say here under consideration. Whyd you even ask then? Only post that resembled suggesting to get either of these cars was Zandors saying hed rather get the Cen than a traxxas, but I'm pretty sure Zandor would rather get kicked in the junk than spend $100 on a cen. I know I would.

Woah... Are you telling me this thread is pointless? I took everyones posts into consideration. The only reason I am getting the Cen instead of the Traxxas is because my brother already got one. I took the mugen into consideration too, but I stil liked the cen better. And last, your poinoin is yours and my opinion is mine. I would spend $100 on a cen if I had the chance. So dont tell me I didn't take anyones posts into consideration.
