I'm looking at building something to mow my lawn with remotely, since I can't really walk much anymore. I have small cell lung cancer and am now on permanent oxygen, so I'm looking at economical alternatives, since my yard isn't huge, and lawn service is outrageous. The lowest quote so far is $300 a month for 3/4 of an acre, so, if I can build something using a not too expensive crawler and a modified push mower, I will. Every idea I have seen so far though is way out of my price range, so I'm just looking for ideas.

i dig this idea and have almost pulled the trigger on one myself just for funsiez.
one idea was to get a gooseneck trailer that was about 4 feet long, then pop a weed eater under the deck, i figured id control the throttle with a nitro set up maybe??
i kept going back to the tow behind scythe stly mowers and a crawler, you said the grass grows quick and tall, a cen is gonna eventually get bogged down in the taller grass unless you add some weight up front then it should pull thru most yard grass, if theres thicker weeds you might want to consider something larger but that comes with the larger price tag too,
i want to hook one of them up to my scx6 next spring, see what it will do.
that rc mower @Greywolf74 built is the dream tho lol

Way, way beyond my price range though. They were one of the first ones I looked at when I came back to this idea. And, you need an SCX6 to pull it, which is more than I could ever afford, or actually even need. My back yard is maybe 75 x 125 feet, and my front yard is maybe 125 x 150 feet.

i hear you on that $tag, i noticed my cen started pulling things much easier when i added no lie 7lb of weight to the front to keep it held down. but that was just cause i was being goofy lol pulling a mower blade you will just need enough to counter that weight, the cen will handle hat no problem! its a beast
