Castle creations sensor board

I have a castle creations 1520 1650kv motor and the sensor board went bad can I use a other castle creations sensor board randomly or does it need to be same kind motor? I have a 7700kv 1400 series motor and the sensor board fits and got it to run but I don't know if it would be safe.

Maybe give Castle a call tomorrow and get it straight from the horses mouth.
They’ve always been super helpful whenever I call.
