I hate it when this happens. The fuel tank broke(cracked and seal wasn't sealing) and the car started running poorly so i thought it doesn't have enough back pressure so i bought a new tankand... The same problem. it just can't pick up revvs even with it as lean as lean can be!!! If i run it richer it doesn't even start.

The car is a Kyosho GP Alpha with a Kyosho GX15 (i want a OS CVRX but $$$ gets in the way)

Its probably the poopy fuel I'm using buy as per usual the most icolated city in the world(Perth Aust) hasnt got a drop of brand name fuel in it(or anything else good quality)!!!
Its not the glow plug coz its a brand newy(OS #8)

thanks in advance

Hoe many tanks are through the motor? Did you check to make sure the motor has compression? Are there any air leaks around the carb or back plate

The engine is pretty old and has been run in long ago. It still has the same compression when I'm pull startin it. There could be a leak in the carb. I might check in the mornin. It does dribble oil(or some black liquid) out of the join where the pullstart is attached to the block...That mey be the problem, I do have a new p/s so ill whack that on in the morn too.

Cheers

Did it run right at some point or have you always had this problem? If not, then what was the last thing you did since it started running crappy?

Sounds like an air leak somewhere.

Air leak does sound quite likely especially if you're seeing oil out the backplate. Also, when was the last time you gave the engine a good clean? If you're getting airleaks, I'd say pull the engine and give it a good thorough cleaning. Especially clean the carb. You confessed to using poor quality fuel. Are you running a fuel filter? Clean out the carb including the spray bar and needle valves. There may be debris in there. Then seal the engine up good. Uses oxygen sensor safe sealant on the carb and backplate. Don't use any on the head. Then see what it does.

:doc: GOOD IDEA ABOUT CHECKING SEALS. ITS GOOD TO GO ALL AROUND THE ENGINE WITH SOME ULTRA COPPER CARB,MANIFOLD,ECT.... ANYWHERE THARE MAY BE LEAK. A AIR TIGHT ENGINE IS A HAPPY ENGIN

Please do not type all in caps. On the internet that is taken as shouting. It makes what you are saying hard to read. Thanks for your help, and welcome to RCNT!

You HAVE been warned!!! Next time you will be shot! :sniper:

I don't think it's a big deal, but it is how people yell on forums when they are angry or extatic.

Thanks alot guys. I pulled the carb apart and bathed it in meths and then reassembled it with fresh locktite. then i pulled the old pullstart off and put the new one on with a bit of that gasket silicone stuff and then put the engine back in and now...

ITS PERFECT!!! It started 2nd pull and was back to its happy, screaming self!!! I just need to readjust the idol but thats no biggy.

Thanks again guys
