Question for the carpet racers. Why don't you use closed cell foams? I see open cells in the rear and no foams in the front. On the clay track I race, at everyone uses closed cells and some run a harder then stock closed cell foams. I asked one of my faster friends that races carpet and he wasn't sure why. He actually said he should probably experiment with some closed cells.

Good question.

I have no clue 😅

I use closed cell foams for short course truck, and had been since I started RCing for SCT atleast. But buggies and everything else is open cell. 2wd front buggy don't have inserts, just tire and then wheel.

Just reminded me I have a rear pair of tires that need to be glued
