Anybody got carbon fiber chassis plates on their savage? Are they good for bashing or racing or both?

I run the Fullforce 3mm Carbon Fiber Kit: (TVPs, Arm Braces, and Brake disk). I have had them since the spring and can only say great things about them. The kit definitely lightens up your weight and has held it's own in bashing and racing.

(they occasionally put them on ebay for cheap, that's where I got mine)

I have seen other CF TVP's which have only lasted a couple of tanks. If you are looking at some make sure they are at least 3mm thick. Anything thinner than that and you greatly increase your risk of cracking them. I witnessed some thinner ones cracking the first time they hit a jump.

Another tip I did was to put some CA glue on a q-tip and rub it on all the edge seams. This helps reinforce the seams.

I've build a custom 4mm carbon fiber chassis and works great, the weigh is similar to the aluminium chassis but the plates are Thicker, they don't flex and don't brake, after some abuse I'm very happy with the result.
