Hey Gang,

I am new to all this, but i have a question about the way my MGT is running...

When I get it up to 2nd gear, and it is approaching top speed, the engine drops in RPM, like a rev limiter would sound. As soon as I lay off the gas, it revs back up, but never to full speed.

One guy told me that it was lack of fuel at high rpm, another told me that it's too much fuel.

The engine i am using is a LRP Z.28 Spec 2.

Any advice for a total newb? I'd really appreciate it...

Is it running hot? Do you have a temp gun?

Do you see a lot of smoke at WOT?

Too lean or rich on the HSN would cause that problem. If it's running hot, then it's lean. If it's running cool, then it's rich. If there isn't any smoke, lean. A lot of smoke, rich.

Hi olds,

There is a reasonable amount of smoke... I adjusted both needles at separate times, but i just can't seem to find the right mixture to cure this issue.

No, I don't have a temp probe yet, but working on it. I am thinking that a temp of 200 would be where I wanted to run... but a temp probe would indeed be helpful.

Thanks so much for the reply:)

So I realize it been quite a while, but I thought I would post the end results of my problem...

I had a leaking front bearing in the LRP...

I now have a Spec 3 and all is good:)
