Hey Maxx,

I'm no "car god" but I've got plenty of experience. Are you gonna install it? If not then why buy on E-bay. Refresh my memory but doesn't your Probe SE have a relatively large v6? If so then I'd go with a FlowMaster as you can't beat the combo of great sound and performance in a wide variety of v6 and v8 applications. If you have a 4cyl then the Greddy would be a good choice as they design most everything for cars with "ricer" displacement. I'm run full race and cat back exhaust sytems from Greddy and HKS. HKS is really king but their prices are rediculous. The Greedy systems offer great performance for the money(they're still not cheap though but what is nowdays).

EDIT - I meant to say HKS instead of HK(brainfart).

This a turbo or non turbo?
Either way a nice Greddy Cat back exhaust system would make it sound nice, but not cheasy. Just remember you get what ya pay for, so Id stay away from Checkers, pep boys and Walmart.

Ok the 1993 models don;t have turbo just the previous model. I have a 1993 Probe GT V6 and I had the Flowmaster and a HKS sport exhaust and it was interesting. It gave it a little punch and more of a throaty sound more like a hummmmm. If you really want to do this and achieve more power then you should consider getting headers and getting your ECU reprogrammed for the increase in flow through your exhaust. ALso I had HKS cold air intake but this was before there was a bypass valve invented. I took that out. .

Other things to consider ..

Is your car lowered? If so then Greddy may be the way to go.

what do you have installed in your probe SE?

LOL that is too funny. Go cheap you sound cheap and look cheap. the long term expense is even more.

If you take out the catalytic converter(s), you'll most likely see more power than just getting an exhaust.

But for me, if I was all about performance, i'd build up the suspension first rather than doing any engine work. Get some adjustable coilovers, some sway bars, strut bar and some nice lightweight 16" rims.

true but you will also be breaking the law. You can get a hold of a high flow cat and still be legal. There is all a trick by installing a 1 meg Ohm resistor in your mass air sensor located in your intake. Unfortunately there is a cone restrictor that needs to be there or you will actually reduce the air flow. this must stay in your way when you install an intake.

Yeah, no cats is illegal...but in some counties throughout the U.S...they don't do emissions, so why have the cats there at all?

DOT. Department of Transportation. I don't know about the other states but California is pretty damn tough to get by unless you have a connection for "magic smog" but that rarely works as they get ratted out. I still think if you just research what I posted earlier you can get more power and that sound.

i prefer having a sleeper car over moderatly shown to full out rice.

no big mufflers:) just somtin that gives the ponies

Well I know in Washington State, there's a few places where they don't do emissions, so all the people into modding their cars, they just remove the catalytic converter.

But seriously, straight line speed is nothing if you can't turn ;)

someone ad to do it so it might as well be me

Here is a badass exhaust I found for cheap!

You can say that again!! If you can't ride it like a normal car then why keep it stock might as well make it into a drag strip car only.

I wonder what the type r Interior looks like.

Real Type R interior is black/dark blue loking material with red stitching but with that muffler in mind. i think..........CHROME!, lol.

Dude....everyone worries about exhausts and sound so damn fast like its gonna make peopel gawk at their car like some damn ricer in fast in the furious....do at NitroBoy said.....go suspension setups and leight weight wheels(Roto Slipstreams are nice) or just sell the v6 prob and get a Turbo probe.....they come with a Mazda engine any how.

yeah but the 93- up is a nicer body style. more sleek!

Thanks guys. its a 4 cylinder no turbo, standard. i have to get the car inspected and the whole exhaust system is gona probly have to be replaced, still have to get it checked out. When i got the car in the garage i will see what they suggest for a exhaust and everything. Also the engine is probly gona need to be replaced or re-built because it has 110,000 or around there. But hey the car is in great shape and it was only $100. So far what i got for the car is carbon fiber shifter, aluminum racing pedals, LED arrows that go in the mirrors, winshield spray things with a LED in them, LED valve step covers.

thanks guys,
later

o yea that coffee can idea is so funny.. lol

Ricer bullshit thats a waste of money, they dont make the car loo"fast" they make it lok stupid, and thats the kind of poop the people with real fast cars laugh about. I suggest returning them and buying something worth a damn

i feel the same way but lets not have a flame the ricers thread :)

OR maybe we should... just not here :)

To each their own. I don't really care much for his mods, but that's his choice. I see tons of cars everyday that aren't my style, but to the owner, he might think it's the best thing ever.

As long as he's happy with his car, that's all that matters.
