Just put a new cooling head on my CEN, it's slightly different to the original but the same six screw pattern on the bottom. Have checked shims they seem fine infact everything seems fine but fuel keeps leaking out when I try to start it ??????????? Even put the old one back on (same prob) ??? Everything is cleaned and I'm not sure what to look for from here ??? Would love to hear any thoughts cause i got nuthin !!! :(

i guess you could seal it when the same stuff used to seal the back plate ect ect....
although wait for someone else to comment on this before you do it because I'm not sure if it could hurt your engine or not

Have you sealed the backplate, carb neck, and needles? Those are the most common areas for a leak to occur so I think you may want to look into that. Cleaning it wont do much as the engine needs to be air tight, new engines can even leak, so its best to get it out of the way first.

Also check your fuel lines for holes.
Goodluck!

Have you isolated the leak to the cooling head? If so, are you gently tightening the screws down at first, then tightening in a star pattern to get it to bolt down evenly? If you tighten one side too tight, it lifts the other side of the head, so you have to take the time to get all the screws down and touching the head, then tighten 1/2 turn at a time while tightening opposing screws without ever tightening two that are side by side.

Definatly isolated the leak to the head, I know this cause I can see fuel slightly bubbling out from under cooling head. Was pretty sure the shimms go under the head but i've seen a few motors that don't ??? bit confused anyone know how the Cen works ???:(

Yeah, shims should go between the top of the sleeve and bottom of the head or head button. Typically made out of copper or soft aluminum so they can seal around any imperfections in either surface.

I'd try loosening all the head bolts and tightening them back up as I suggested after wiggling the head around a bit to make sure it's sitting flat.
