I'm 13 and i got my trx 2.5r with the pull starter mounted perfectly in my nitro stampede... Now i have the glow igniter and i took the glow plug out and with the igniter it is glowing orange as it should be... I heated up the engine to about 150F and i try to pull start it but the pull starter just acts like it doesn't want to be pulled... Am i not strong enough because i have a friend that is stronger than me and he can't even pull it... I got it to move a little bit but nothing happens... I just hear the motor try to turn over.,... Is there something i can do to make it easy to pull... Plz reply quick.... thanx...

Make sure your piston isn't stuck at TDC. Is it a new engine?

Oh yeah, make sure you didn't put your OWB in backwards.

if it's a new engine, loosen off the Glow plug (GP) by a half turn whilst you start the engine. once started, tighten it back up. Makes it a lil' easier to tug that ol' pull starter.

Just my :2cents: worth

It is probably stuck at the top of the sleeve. Remove the GP and put some oil in the hole. Turn the flywheel with a screwdriver or vice grips to free it up.Heat the engine thoroughly for 10 minutes first though. Then once it frees up leave the plug out and pull the cord a few time to blow all the fuel/oil out of the engine. Reinstall the plug but do not snug it down, leave it slightly loose. Reheat the engine, prime it by blowing the fuel into the carb with pressure line. Then try to start it. As soon as it fires ease into the throttle and get the engine to clear out. Tighten the plug then start driving the truck. Lean the needles to the point that the engine at least hits 200F and moves the truck easily. Shut it down, put the piston at BDC and let it cool for 20 minutes. Preheat it again and repeat the above process. Run it in 10 minute intervals with cool down periods between tanks roughly 6 to 8 times. Then tune it to run good but not like it is fully broken in. That will take 1/2 gallon or so on that engine. This will give you a proper screamer of an engine around the 3/4 gallon mark. this is how i broke my 3.3 in and it was faster than anyother 3.3 I came across.
